Settling Down
Coming hereSettling down
was easier for you
Homesick
I measured the miles
set the clock's dark hands
with a view of returning to home ground
Days inched into years
I watched others
come and go back
go and come back
We never did
nor can we now
resettle in the old country
leave our children
and their children
settled down in theirs
