the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional

focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,

0 a) m5 c8 D+ M$ K4 SThis strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:1 c5 t7 U3 k! k4 B- N
· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
* b' x6 y! s+ o# nTheatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to 7 b7 u; {& u0 X$ u1 S, B$ i! {/ I
take advantage of other internal and external advertising
! n( u" {' i/ N4 p# Qopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional % \8 a' s+ `) `( E0 P, Q/ p
literature on an ongoing basis.' `7 Q/ }8 ]2 l; g
· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.' t/ ~$ b" d, f" k: P' g# x
· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the 0 X4 g0 H: e' c m
use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.2 B. e' W6 }7 D
· To develop new external clients for the venues.

3 b, C% `* C% J; K" @' Da. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
! t2 C/ @+ k& E+ P5 ]2 L+ y# Xeffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the 8 m, m! l: \3 ?; w0 S/ J
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and
: h X6 S7 i$ M) ?$ n& I0 ?contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of ( v8 l5 g5 F" X6 H- O
the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues 7 H' K+ a1 Z0 X2 F, s( l
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining, # p2 p3 I2 @, s
evaluating and terminating, as necessary.1 K5 q5 |" Y8 O5 J# h
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at - ~8 B& I6 }" U
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such
5 @4 p7 P6 C( D) Z6 tschedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
: A% O/ @ T4 Gcost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it - c9 i Y( Q! G, e8 C6 L2 ?
is in operation or needs to be in operation.6 S3 W2 v. k" x# |8 s7 Z. K
· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure
7 X: }% I% o9 r+ I3 A# j( c0 Jthat an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to

renters needs are met.5 H! k3 i1 i8 w' W
· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills , X _, y& V N/ f9 n* K
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
4 ~4 {: w# k8 r; ythe roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and " `9 `2 c- L: r0 i2 T
effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and
$ A; `/ M5 Y$ Z, ^. `appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual

excellent customer service to all renters.

5 U7 R0 P z* F, W' p, }7 sscheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance 4 [ @0 G5 }* F+ r
and direction of the Manager of Venues and Programming, concerning
; F+ ?, S* r& f& r$ c: ?! `the staff of the venues.
# _& A9 ?! e# ^8 f- O( z· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure
; Q. C; p2 H E7 A! A4 Nthe appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the

G8 ~- F3 \; V% foperating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of ( l* Z \: @& P* \, `
Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets , O8 O- i2 O3 n* w
Manager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance &
( r% p% N& L8 M1 _Administration prior to their submission for final approval.
& B3 N# B7 F" s, c6 h· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively
- q8 ]6 H9 K2 x x) V- Jreflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects

· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and
4 a# J: M" K, _6 Wadministrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the

· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job

+ o% d4 H9 T1 f! I1 sevents held in the Horowitz Theatre.
A* @) T0 @- w- G· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with
3 V7 I' r( p1 d# Y$ Jthe billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely
% q0 s7 Y* s6 F* y( ]% q% Imanner to the Accounting Department.
( p7 K/ l6 w: Y* o6 _, w/ S· To recognize, address and handle all matters relating to financial 2 K: K: {, V/ R v: `1 D c0 u+ J
and administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects
) z& j! @3 i) t: p: gthe requirements of the SU´s Manager of Programming and Venues and
( T* F% H* n3 A" C, q2 qManager of Finance and Administration, and in a manner which 4 x: }/ U8 x1 y% |1 b: n
contributes positively to the smooth operation and success of the % J! k0 B5 X4 _4 W
venues.

a. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in : D2 U' d% u# i
renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and
3 i8 g/ _+ i' X; h/ g1 m, Zneeds, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the `" [5 y/ Z. Q( L$ s
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:' _8 [. Z# F/ N* U+ h' |' R1 e! R

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as
8 a3 B+ K" r* Hmay be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this 8 Y9 e8 ^( D# B# |
is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes * l3 x' ^ t3 s7 ?& D7 y
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,
/ l; ^5 Q7 s3 u5 Q. U" R6 g- y2 dpricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, ; z+ ^5 C. @: ^* p( S: P' U% Z/ Q: f
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary ( J; o5 k- s5 }0 _2 E
to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
9 W" ]" U2 `# U6 z Q: }. x+ T- Mfunctionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.
6 G( Q& j$ s6 ~2 G4 B' T· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures
* I8 j, V! [* w7 ~& a6 R6 ^9 _as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
! W% @ g! A; I' U0 Aeffective operation of the venues., X i0 \; ^$ s3 r6 t
· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to . k3 Q1 d" c% G; {2 w" c+ ^
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
1 h: s/ Q! @' r6 r· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
+ B( N- J/ f- gthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.
+ C, c( X9 s! c- y. z· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their . {/ w: P) H( F
particular event in the venues.
! \2 F( p1 p5 |$ k1 |4 M· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and 2 E) I* H* L9 p5 d1 ]' J& M2 K
supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the / R% I+ c+ }& K( ?0 c. I$ x
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
! v, D; b3 k; h7 K+ Y' [1 |; B· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular
* G0 c" Z M0 _: J$ Vrental with consultation with the Technical Director.
% t: h! N* c" @) B· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the / F2 b1 v* C5 q8 u _8 F; K
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately ) K3 l3 E1 f) ^1 [9 K$ P0 Q
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
& o% W" I5 }7 F! Efollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.
, E J2 s7 A* W# Y d! ]* n To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately, ) i% O/ B2 H7 }: B- I z
effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that
J" j* e2 Y- I- r n+ B9 ?" w1 ythe cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision
7 }3 ]& s" P: j0 {5 X- Gmade for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of $ A4 s3 Y! c4 c5 h7 e; V3 t
Programming and Venues.

$ m1 M& n* i7 j# W: W5 ~significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of ! j- Q; W2 G' b: ^. V5 l: r( I P
marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as
