extensive, and are targeted at the all round smooth operation and

the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional ) Y8 k. Y: J/ ] |- V$ t. x7 [
venues within the realm of the Students´ Union. In the light of that

However, the main roles and responsibilities of the Operations

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues listed below meet the

2. Marketing and Promotion8 S3 f$ b& y6 v# q8 a: _

focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,

· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz
" [, z/ R! J1 \( C s5 Q" dTheatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to 8 D" g& A' B0 z
take advantage of other internal and external advertising & V" @$ `7 q& ~, M& b5 p
opportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional ' _7 ]# r x; M
literature on an ongoing basis.

· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the & k" a9 D6 ^' }- a/ j! T. i( z
use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.

3 P- [* ^6 Q( z3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- ! A7 F8 K6 z7 b; H, b
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
' _0 H7 L# Y/ B! ?' {/ Yvenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 4 `) f/ I! ]9 K/ m7 J v" y/ D
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
! S( a" R1 g/ ?( [1 G& }the renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited

· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues ; x9 ^7 u0 v' ~4 i. d
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
+ g6 {6 F7 j2 D/ n: levaluating and terminating, as necessary.
0 s3 |/ O) H% f$ F8 X, S To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at 6 I- G; h( A+ s- }
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such 0 R! Y4 p6 t# o w8 u' d
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and & N5 y* X1 W0 n# D* g6 s
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
& D% t8 h" k( Nis in operation or needs to be in operation.
! I. n1 ~4 z! @4 ?, \· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure ( W% s: C `/ i% b( b7 u' \
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to $ ?. n) W) i. G
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all ( c' {5 Q% `- y! K
renters needs are met./ o$ f% i- [3 L
· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills 7 ]3 q8 R/ o, o; N- a" C3 i, x5 M
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of
W- m. X% n1 D6 h+ d& n' \the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and

scheduling. To handle payroll related matters, under the guidance

the staff of the venues.

that additional requests such as licensed receptions are arranged.

systems and processes utilized by or within the venues meet the

includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of

Administration prior to their submission for final approval./ {9 ]) s' d( |# m
· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively

the best interests of the venues and the Students´ Union.- I- I; P3 l: |5 R' _0 i
· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and , C5 A+ T6 r% M( ^
administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the

· To discuss those financial statements and other reports, together

Administration with a view to determining and implementing action

· To ensure the existence of adequate, effective and accurate job

setting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for

the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely

· To recognize, address and handle all matters relating to financial

the requirements of the SU´s Manager of Programming and Venues and

venues.

renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and + W/ G5 p3 u" t% ?
needs, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the
5 ?* v* J3 C# A% p/ x0 ovenues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as * F7 a$ |' I# s s. f2 o$ k
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this
- O. G7 M8 ], u3 N. r7 j, `- |4 Lis to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes
/ d# N4 H& _1 x, f kin the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation,
p" p! \; | W, B7 rpricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, 1 @1 p9 u0 ~* Z* T' P& @8 J) j
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary E6 }. s: R( H) _; k, u# n& q+ m
to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
% W, D" Y8 m, _& S9 @functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.
j; v* U y& H* i· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures 9 t% F# M1 w: t; ]
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
+ R. q) D- A3 y% N2 Feffective operation of the venues.4 j! i6 g2 L' }, R
· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to 8 w+ e9 O# J2 Q) Q) e# w) E
dates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
3 f5 t. h, z* d2 Y, c, D( O; T& H· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and : z, |: K5 _% g' T2 Z+ o
that such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.
$ y8 \# h- b4 c8 Q$ C6 |· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their 5 U/ L) M# [0 i4 h6 P, O7 B3 |$ c6 S
particular event in the venues.
M. J( c" _& z* \· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and
) q# _; ]$ X" ]# D7 Q9 P3 Jsupporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the X9 Q. j8 O7 l4 j, ]. E) G% E
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
: ~( f7 u- b5 F: F· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular 3 R1 a* a) ~- \+ [$ D1 e# D: F
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
/ ~( _) a' E, d8 W· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the / F, O2 q/ x$ ?8 A* a% _; ^
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately
- Z1 J" G2 z2 x) O$ o: s) Ganswered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in : i8 O$ p) \/ G1 u% c6 I
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.7 S- U. r' D1 C
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately, 6 ^8 B. I9 F, r0 _- w
effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that 0 p' s0 z3 {- c% r( \ R
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision
5 \7 x; m* p# U1 R9 W \made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of
- C. H- g( `& G! Q7 v bProgramming and Venues.$ u1 e- x0 a; M" ~- L4 E
· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of
- @! C1 t( `5 Msignificant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
5 m) Y1 r6 h7 ^/ q% G& mmarketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as

QUALIFICATIONS:
