About background check

My case:

9 r. ~/ s/ O0 `0 Q% _7 y; p2 h0 lI sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

) U8 K8 m. x0 p, p2 M: ^"We have requested background information from other government
: h4 W9 h! b9 G' \( }1 Z/ Boffices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
* O0 y+ E& M0 B  c5 ^of your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
& `0 {4 q' x: [the status of your application before this information is received."
9 \9 z, j' M. p. B; y/ N
Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。

不一定就是背景调查，　也可能是查再加拿大有无犯罪记录什么的，不用担心。
