请问：从外省开过来的车，换车牌时是否需要换保险

我车目前是NOVA SCOTIA的牌照，也是NOVA SCOTIA的保险，
现在过来EDMONTON,
但问了一些大家推荐的保险公司，他们给QUOTE的价格都非常高，
所以想暂时先用着以前在NOVA SOCITA时的保险，用到一年的合约满为止。
不知道如果我去换ALBERTA省的车牌时，他们会否让我重新再在当地买份保险呢？？？

you are only allowed to use your outprovince plate for 90 days by Alberta law, during this period, you need to change your plate, your dirver license and pass the outprovince inspection for your car, if you failed in that inspection, you can not get registered and insured, you have to re-test again. there are hundreds money you have to pay if you want to keep your car.

there are much more detailed regulations about how to identify if you are an Alberta resident. but if you have job and live here for long time,say, 3 month or more, you can not bear an other province plate for ever. I guess, it is illegal. Unless you never bother a police officer, you will be caught someday and facing a big fine ticket at least. Call the transportation and ask them how they handle it.
