Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities+ u/ B) ^6 n" V
- submit information for community news
- }- j8 V3 V8 j- provide volunteers to update membership database
6 _2 Y7 Z. I- P; W$ A- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
2 t! f0 b: p7 k1 p- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties# @ ^" v" D% D# x
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
. M9 `9 Q. [- R+ H) I+ `- provide volunteers for various programs
, _1 K* b) ` V6 S4 Q8 \6 W3 ]- B/ S* s- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual; B5 V0 @" Z$ l! k
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation$ o( P0 G" A1 h$ C9 Z
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
4 D' ?" U' l+ {8 f6 q- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
. d$ L* R" N3 A# A W) y( t9 L% B- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
( H( z- x% H. Q7 j0 S) a- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
9 j6 h/ j% `/ v7 t- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
9 V. ^1 u1 L+ w+ B$ z- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)9 M+ Z* j" |" p9 F
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % D6 T4 ^" S% k4 y
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 7 J4 w) O, A) I9 A1 v2 j, ^5 P7 a) U
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 3 T. S) F- n! w
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
; I0 X" K8 o0 e% H$ ]- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
4 y: ^, F: A% f9 ]- K0 i% K- evaluations + q5 M1 u) V. f8 u6 k# G
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre2 v% Q0 s( {- U4 y
+ ~( _0 {1 c9 j0 x9 MQualifications8 K0 `( t$ o) q/ V$ e# u6 e
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
2 e |+ H* u/ \8 V+ N- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
, H0 r6 c& _8 x- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
9 q9 H q9 z) q/ ?. K- leadership skills: V8 [1 y6 R$ S$ \0 b0 d' V/ U
- management and supervision skills
