Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator * q& A3 G& ]# f# S# _
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
1 O& f7 Y6 a: Y! _* ?6 q6 u- submit information for community news
0 a9 e E+ G6 D- provide volunteers to update membership database
9 O$ R2 |) D. f: e* e: P7 B- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers, ]+ I8 O5 i% h: `9 _4 Y0 G
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
$ N$ c, f0 ~0 }4 U! K- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties' _6 J9 Q1 m2 G* ^4 Y
- provide volunteers for various programs ) k" H4 G9 s1 X
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual/ ?) t, ?. v5 K; B6 Z3 \
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
# I7 E. ]; t' A6 H8 C4 B- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
0 q( I Z; ` e& e3 [) q% S1 `- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
0 s" }3 n! L& R* I. a- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports' [8 H/ w# Y7 v: g6 x+ M7 }3 S
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed. R/ j+ d( q- H
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed# y" ~" g; b+ t* j4 k1 R
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# I6 ^/ P1 G) G/ f) r
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 9 ]6 M; ]0 `. C9 r: r0 U
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
y6 f; i6 R, j8 K- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers 6 Y0 `, L( V8 n
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
& r% Y# T( e" ~/ q8 h9 Z; O3 v- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

4 \, E( K4 f. z0 ?! K1 [' ]( m- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education; Z+ m2 U* a) H5 D
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ K$ c: S' [" Y5 B& d) J- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' z; w. |% T: w0 d$ u p
- leadership skills! \( T0 ^) S0 a3 m
- management and supervision skills6 n$ ~4 i5 j Q9 d8 I. y) S' x
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
