When we were called the Sick Man of Asia, we were the Yellow Peril.
  E5 n' e2 N9 V( rWhen we are billed to be the next Superpower, we are a threat.

When we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to our markets.
+ ?2 @$ x2 t3 v) L( E) |& dWhen we embraced Free Trade, you blame us for taking away your jobs.

, t, [5 w% @- r: H" `1 X9 PWhen we were falling apart, you marched in your troops and wanted your “fair share”.
( V: J, I# L' s8 ~- f* _When we were putting the broken pieces together again, “Free Tibet” you scream, “it was an invasion!”

So, we tried communism, you hated us for being communists
When we embraced capitalism, you hate us for being capitalists.

2 s" g. o5 I- y" ]/ K: P3 mWhen we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.
- d$ M+ G/ c) p) j# e0 JWhen we tried limiting our numbers, you said it is human rights abuse.

When we were poor, you thought we were dogs.
5 \1 w+ _8 J* f8 y' u0 hWhen we loan you cash, you blame us for your debts.

* H. R8 U  B+ t. F+ c/ s' H# wWhen we build our industries, you called us polluters.
6 n1 V: Y+ b8 G7 w7 Z% T0 ^: gWhen we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.

When we buy oil, you call that exploitation and genocide.
When you fight for oil, you call that liberation and democracy.

When we were lost in chaos and rampage, you wanted rule of law for us.
2 Y8 d7 [1 j" B* s+ {6 wWhen we uphold law and order against violence, you call that violating human rights.

( v8 [" P- L' E* ~; bWhen we were silent, you said you want us to have free speech.
When we were silent no more, you say we are brainwashed racists.

6 K3 ^  y! A# FWhy do you hate us so much? We asked.
4 ~2 \& ^: n; Y2 q, b“No,” you answered, “We don’t hate You.”

We don’t hate you either,

“Of course we do,” You said,

9 B* q$ U$ h* B, gWe want one world, one dream, and peace on Earth.
4 m9 {+ C) t+ T" iThis big blue Earth is big enough for all of Us.
