8 P3 V) y- @- L: ?* L- M    * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
    * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
    * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
$ W% M' {9 j# q( h' P6 s7 e# Z    * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
/ k- Y% c0 G' F0 F. w& F    * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
    * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
    * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
    * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
0 ?+ `4 z) b7 Y( H! o2 M2 j    * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications

    * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
) W( z' L) \; B: x    * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)

4 `0 o! \  y  f8 G4 H: x    * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
    * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
