( _( B3 c% B; o! F * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis! G3 r/ \, q5 C% A4 R8 E; {$ o5 @' U
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
4 g9 p+ [' ?* Y% A9 c [, F * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
7 |: A% b; p" ~) f @, @ * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
6 ^, I L& c1 P/ B: r * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
( T+ W/ `+ k* B8 y0 N; Y+ D: L * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals, R( [2 k% Y) }6 _; O# p! d: T# O
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab t3 M( ^" s. F, g: b
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices& A J6 v7 v0 ]5 @
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications3 D& J$ V, O1 L+ Z, A$ ~
' X% V- E: y" G. r! f
* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred: o& i" T/ Q1 J, U" s; F
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
& ]# q) M, d8 x/ e6 T. u * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
- `; o$ {& ] d1 g4 e" I * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
