# }4 y( Q! x. l1 f- a1 } * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
9 L0 K8 I2 S8 n& b( [" p3 E3 W * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography2 e4 k0 B$ b6 }; a9 W# U! `
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques7 [, j) M3 G9 c; @5 u2 Q
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
5 g ] e% n! ~5 a, [( U% q* P * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
/ X' t. q# d6 \+ W k; Y * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
- Y+ Z# i" D6 k! r4 f+ ~( i- e * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab3 K9 J+ ^0 c/ W0 j. O
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices0 i0 V+ l% R, e0 a/ P( ^, n( h4 ?& N" a
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)7 `6 z% e% n& z6 k D4 {

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
6 f3 U! W* a: g0 z * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)5 i% Y$ p) G! `) e2 z4 E A
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
- _9 i. [) e" v/ Q; l2 ` * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
4 d( n% k% G1 C( H * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
