R0 N6 S8 j: y+ F( u2 Y# JPosition Abstract: as a community organizer you will be responsible for providing training to residents of an inner city community who are actively involved in creating strategies for a healthier neighbourhood. Working towards ensuring wide participation by residents/organizations in the local community you will assist in reinforcing inclusivity. 1 i; X) f. P/ E
+ I* n$ K& s* m) iPLUS: a capable advocate for alternative dispute resolution, you will liaise between the community and elected officials/municipal administration, assisting in the development of a strong working relationship between these groups. . M1 e$ h) H% k( u
) b& S/ e% R. b4 q V) cEducation & Experience: the position calls for an individual with education in the humanities or related field + 2 years experience in the field of community organizing. Special interest in ecological literacy and sustainable communities will be an asset. % A: p% v4 ~0 G0 Y6 q1 G
5 q, b k0 h4 K+ M" F" j. d4 JOther Skills: the successful candidate will have a strong background in building group capacity & seeing projects through to completion. There is a significant element of research and an opportunity for creativity in assisting residents to address community challenges.
