. G& }$ s$ k$ I! d+ q/ e    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region7 M! l9 X( s6 ^
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
- D# l8 \: ?! U/ O2 A- Z" }* m    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators2 C  H- g% U' B" }
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
- L) D1 B3 Z5 n; l' u    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director. b9 ?3 A9 ^1 }5 q8 z
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses! L1 F: d* T: _; J7 {- f) }, D
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth6 L6 u' w: I" [
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
: e& D' o! }2 A4 w5 Y    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
. k2 ]- W/ q, O  y) I; B    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
' E2 s) F' d4 N: b- h    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs& L4 Y2 o0 C' d# V! m$ j/ Q
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly4 B9 E& w7 u( ]8 S
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities! s- T7 G% T2 i1 a$ K2 y. p
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline# K' M( A1 w( x/ o% w/ C+ w! h' u$ }
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth! H3 s9 x) A4 F
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
% I" n7 I9 J8 C$ m    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
; }; j; J7 O$ @) ]7 K    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills! O" Y8 G0 F6 r5 x; s! m* k: s
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
( k! e% A- V" U3 O% j4 B2 z3 M. C    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
