 * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region5 O9 S2 p# C+ z  L8 R
 * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group& N2 R2 i4 t/ c6 X/ Q$ J/ P
 * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators1 A" e+ v1 {8 z
 * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
 . U7 o# K: k2 c! h3 }% f+ A    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
 ) C. }7 E4 t2 \4 G    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses

 * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

 Qualifications! ?+ S$ W# S$ {  v, ]
 
 h, `9 a/ Y# O0 v$ ?    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
 & L* D6 G  U3 \( P0 Z* [: {: H: T% ]    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth8 r+ m$ T& I3 n" ~- L" V
 * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
 & p+ z0 K# Q6 F: o7 r    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
 ' Y& T- s1 N( i- I; u$ j    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community9 o: k4 M. `: E3 E# w* z' y
 * Fundraising skills an asset4 `% A$ s# M: O! \% ~
 * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

 * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
