; |8 {0 o3 i1 v$ o$ v) I * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region4 S8 S( X$ {! i$ v9 X* r/ _
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group; _+ M8 c, ]7 U3 a4 c
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
$ q8 [. T7 L4 ` * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
9 e$ {) k# I! c) f; K$ l- X n * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director# z! O( K" |+ B
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses

* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly

Qualifications$ I* ^8 C% d, H+ Y) |, J
' K5 I3 n; A+ e; b2 ~" w
* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline6 T4 H; M& Q5 c8 W" j$ ?+ t
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ {0 V' L6 U( Z* r * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies- y' p' u3 V6 N) h* P" P# s
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
: W3 J) |) n, @# z! D+ W# k * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community+ i9 r' f9 T" @; S! Q" v3 I9 L
* Fundraising skills an asset
" o! |: G# }6 E8 Y/ v * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills& r/ ^$ T+ r3 t4 l) p6 k4 U
* Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills. A4 W5 p% d8 G% _8 w: \3 ^" s/ r9 l' E
* Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills" `/ Q! }; _# i" e/ Q
* Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills! S2 x/ s! V( j4 n- j& {
