. v3 d& @. l5 {  u6 D5 r    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region0 T! Y& N2 ?9 R9 S- _) r
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
8 X1 J7 m; b) D9 x! _: o4 q' C. |! D    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators6 q3 [4 |3 g5 a7 y4 Q/ a
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations  B6 c/ U  E1 }. s4 m
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
4 M& j  [1 e1 l' ]  C    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
; q% s- y0 F/ ]& x  n$ g    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
# v) P- S, c) i) S# f; A    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program+ _- ]8 \  A& G) d. [4 E1 D$ U) r
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
# |, b2 s2 N+ C, {    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
3 y  D& K0 w4 o2 I) J    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs$ o+ _5 Z5 a5 A- ^7 u* G3 f
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly/ T) H( w+ Y" L' q
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities+ }, {1 C( C! h, A2 O+ ^
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications) r0 O1 u$ r' {* Q- o
% y. ]+ r1 n, ~* r, _- R
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline( j- }2 }% q! I: b$ s
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth2 B3 y2 _$ [6 t% \' d: O" B+ U/ x2 y
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
' t7 Y+ }5 u3 W0 ^: D8 j; f    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
) g9 [# q$ n* x) L$ j' y: y    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community- x* V+ D- e, t. k2 u: x
    * Fundraising skills an asset6 [' h5 c. ?' a- y( P% q! w9 e
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills% N7 [& }0 E- q9 {7 E
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills

    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
