7 U8 j* X$ [% s8 b& M6 J! i5 [    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
5 m+ I4 ]7 i+ S6 S$ ]/ O1 T    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
+ M5 L' v- K% O* x    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
1 G9 n# l& i4 R/ n' ~7 ?    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
/ r# U/ A: z$ \/ ]  w$ l    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director! y: L$ k9 c: _* k9 u
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
: A  }9 B2 V: b# C+ }( D    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth! a; ~9 T4 e$ |8 `9 R. m
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program" I9 [; R* u% @. v
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
' F6 V; t' T7 W    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports1 k- l$ V7 \3 R
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
# P) }1 [- F* v1 X1 M; g    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
; {  k. p" s/ Y# [1 N2 t& j    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
( n% m& m' C6 U, p" s/ E* c    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools$ m- f1 _8 U" s/ U' ^' {( c

Qualifications3 S( H3 t  y* P2 [( G

; H% H: R8 `. [3 h* n4 F    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
5 B: o6 m% Z* {) d+ X2 B& k7 A    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth( R% w  g- C4 Y4 J. D9 A
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies5 `: J  b) C+ {) M$ g! B/ m
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs+ O$ H5 N+ {( g
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
; W# L2 d4 j) x5 I2 b0 C3 M' f    * Fundraising skills an asset0 F  L5 A5 u7 Y7 b8 V
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
4 `1 \. x7 \( L% b    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills6 V7 M6 @% a  Q: H4 G; w
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills; `; h5 ]" }+ A9 y
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
! y8 J) E) g3 ]+ F    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset# `2 Y* D& }4 U& T
