    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region$ M/ X# O2 p/ X" o, m  t
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
. S* B& R1 c/ o. i- Z    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators; E& K* P* r) f5 s* K5 z! a
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations, C0 q8 {- O" z6 n
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
# X. T! t( a1 A2 ^7 J    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses+ o% }0 Y! T$ d; B$ g  X; P
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth7 Q/ X% T) a4 V0 o
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program* T# [/ J+ _# I, T5 u: R5 Y  ~
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
5 D2 W6 R5 B; \7 u    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports2 ~( ~0 t: r$ J# h% q
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs( z9 K" n7 b# V6 E  d- i* ?; c
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
# K* k: i: K: l+ S# W    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
( z& a: G+ N* Q    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
6 x9 J0 g0 K: z; p* D# O/ a    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies  z; ]& L* M4 m! B# q6 K
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs4 |/ Y/ o5 i) W0 P9 j
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
' D3 p3 C* Q4 V2 T    * Fundraising skills an asset
: H" U4 Z! I+ J$ z    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
