Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
7 z! ?1 x* z( m * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities" H8 A! m# B# F, b
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes5 { E% v. K5 [, z
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
- K- b" a4 @/ S4 J8 z. ] * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
! o$ t8 J/ g; L; K( E; _7 _ * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements N: I8 I& {' t; g7 F
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
: B2 y$ s1 I. i+ b- X2 H/ N * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director9 z* }3 f! }: {2 x4 L0 V- Q
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
+ I9 C; m+ W) N * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
' M( `/ M) H M% K, c/ Y * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media9 h* N. M, c* l8 G0 M
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
7 J7 s, V7 j+ C% r: D0 w- ` v * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies7 \2 C1 e t: @6 T3 p5 {

+ L% T" t. K9 `+ j7 x; | * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred' d5 D- i {9 J5 B: [! `
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth/ X( d1 `6 q+ {: U) J
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
, Y' O* o( O; `) @0 G * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies8 e$ b1 k" J7 }& C
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
& E, u+ Z$ ?, O( b" _' _# N * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning+ E' T' H8 [) k; t
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
+ i% W c" r0 K8 Z1 K4 Y3 S, A * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
