* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
" e( e( f" Z" R8 t5 o: i# Y4 E * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
- n; L2 ^+ B, }/ T* e * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes$ X" Y5 F7 U. i2 e& G8 R; l
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
$ }% G1 w, }" {% M s/ p4 g * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders- M. J3 K8 C9 \% W* t. K
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
7 ~, j: ]* l( k! q, @7 W * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
* j; y2 U) }) b * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director0 W: s! Q8 q- B
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
* D/ B( o8 ^0 N+ ]+ X * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
6 @4 H8 y4 N, r% ~ * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media# T0 [- g+ J" I' r2 L; n6 G) a# f
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results* ~- z$ p# j: v* }
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies0 c2 i) W( r$ s$ M& v

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred. U% |5 Y; s. T! y
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
' z+ s1 }% T) K* a( g * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
; X. U& y) J( X+ Y * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies6 q. `( x* k3 {& X$ n: i1 w5 N
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills# ^1 e0 }/ x. e
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
6 R: ?( T- @% v * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
