The pain of our loss is beyond anything we could
% D3 f( t& L- D> have ever imagined. Over
/ v+ R' u2 Y2 h* q" P> and over again people tell us that they could never
; T% g& N7 z" L> begin to understand the
> depth of our loss. That is true. But we know of One
" K- _. d) O# z# g4 G7 |- p% v8 A6 z) u$ Q! U> who does understand and
# Q2 K+ ]" r3 r2 ~1 g& A$ Q> feel our pain because He lost His son, too. It
> happened when God gave the
# d% y) A) X6 h> sinless life of His son ant the cross to redeem
* m* ]3 H# _% J- d$ w7 M+ F3 B3 C> sinful lives and to purchase
> forgiveness for us all. There days later, He raised
9 p$ d$ y& Y; ^; \> His son from the dead
> and conquered death. It is though this event where
> human history was
  O2 k4 P, K% X$ G1 t7 a$ J> intersected by divine grace and mercy that we have
' Q% F& U- x# S3 L6 B, i/ z  e> hope. This hope, that's
+ P* G1 u: O; b/ _/ M8 N1 Y7 u> what's sustaining us. It's not an idle wish, but a
> certainty based on the
> promise of God. And this hope fills us with eager
& K6 k" r/ w) [6 X> anticipation and a longing
1 [9 M3 i4 P! ?+ N> for the time when we shall be forever with the Lord.
> It is this hope that
