艾省烟草减税

加拿大癌症防治科学院说，阿尔伯达政府正在采取降低烟草税的政策，这说明该省实施的削减烟草使用的举措发挥了积极作用。最近的刚更新的财政数据表明烟草税下降了6%，相当于5000万加币。
& y2 B# p+ C' X   加拿大癌症防治研究院的Angeline Webb说，烟草削减法案不允许在所有的公共场所和工作地点吸烟，这一法案的切实执行取得了令人满意的效果。
   该法案的最后阶段将在1月1号起实施。从此，烟民们将不能在大专院校里、药店里和超市里买烟。

好像不是减税，是由于增税、禁烟等一系列措施而导致的烟草销售额降低。详见Inews 880 原文：

The Alberta government, already suffering from declining oil revenue, is now facing a dip in tobacco revenue.

* P) m  r& [  ^7 P/ l' TFigures from the quarterly fiscal update show a six percent drop sucking away $50 million dollars from initial budget projections.

Angeline Webb, a Cancer Control Analyst for the Canadian Cancer Society, says "it appears that the Tobacco Reduction Act is having the desired effect."

Meanwhile the final phase of the Act goes into effect on January 1st.

That's when smokers will no longer be able to purchase their fix at post-secondary institutions along with businesses containing a pharmacy, and that includes supermarkets.

But the Campaign for a Smoke-Free Alberta is still calling for a two-dollar per pack tax increase to make smoking even less affordable.

+ T/ a8 l5 \( \  z$ cIt points to a recent Health Canada survey which found 20 per cent of Alberta teens smoke, compared with 15 per cent across Canada.
