实际上，常闭的动作比常开的要可靠的多，在设计中，如果安全很重要，是不接PLC的，限位开关就是一个很好的例子．

停止按钮常串在开启回路中，若不是常闭，就无法开启了。而当停止时，只需一按，线圈失电，马上就停止了，此时停止按钮仍未常闭，随时可以再开启。
