在网上收集了几种译法:供各位参考,希望起到抛砖引玉的作用:
+ `* U* Z$ [5 r0 `% L" E- h. R* v6 c9 }+ ?! N* Q0 c0 n; l! N
1、don"t flip flop (别翻来倒去,朝三暮四)4 V3 \& e% l$ ~& g. D
. b% R3 H" f5 Q$ f7 _; y! Z \ 2、don"t get sidetracked (别走岔路)
8 [0 C; Q6 j/ B. V; q2 J( b
) M3 K. W2 U/ @% R" j 3、don"t sway back and forth (别反复): i; N9 P6 r H$ t! y& {" @
\# `" q) t }
4、no dithering(不踌躇)1 w9 @; l6 x' [! v0 ]: s
1 l9 [% q9 R* e Q' h+ M8 h* n 5、no major changes (没有重大变化)
; G) Y6 G. P. d m9 w0 K9 `

8、no self-consuming political movements
2 c0 X& ?. |6 l4 n( _ avoid self-inflicted setbacks (不折腾)
( K3 }. G( J0 }( I) r* K1 d& Z, n- M" Y$ O- X
原因是:# [( f% @! P: x% P3 }% v# x* B8 C
3 x; P/ X# I) O5 d# y “self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.
% L3 l+ B+ G1 h- A
" D1 p; e1 r6 q, h3 N 折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.: k6 x2 W9 v- ~
+ d7 g% {% e* d% t ]
“Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
