A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.# Y2 d" J+ S2 o# Y9 v' a, w
The program includes the following elements:) J% @( `' `+ p* s% N7 u
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
8 I+ U1 B5 A5 u0 u4 _! p; i' M8 F2 j+ Y• Standard Child Care First Aid& s) z& w' M. z5 B
• WHMIS
, `4 D; t' u+ v) T3 E• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care: h. L' s% J& S3 j2 p/ t7 k
• Components to improve communication skills. t" T" x0 `( U& X. s: y# B
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search1 o& x& p9 R* h2 M1 R
• Practicum Placements; `2 O; P5 P' e/ y+ r& X( h( W' |
Eligibility Criteria
( L" o# c" v, _* O1 I• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
) p) J8 b( }0 V y& nof Canada
, g2 S. {2 B0 y" ^• have a Social Insurance Number
/ |8 m& b/ u" ?. T$ q. ]0 t• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
( [% `% N# q2 B7 t# P( @• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
1 b$ g/ v0 j0 N$ a( u. B) A• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

% `( M4 K# e* H& z# O& F8 a6 tParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
& t/ f- e! N: w K1 Xthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
