Duties
1 L; _7 w- R4 ~( _/ ?7 C
. w2 u6 _* w. r; V8 G * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
- Y# `( K$ b: N/ R * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
, E% j& \( F0 |2 T * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
/ _2 Q6 p3 h+ \# u N * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
6 b& @4 p& [: M: \' `" O * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
" `8 B: Y* R% r; S! A' Y * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

Qualifications2 g8 U" z1 T k7 B1 D3 i( Q+ A
/ U! I1 |% I) c( o * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred/ C7 V3 o* S$ A% [
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
