Duties

u% s2 `( ^) S0 T% ]8 ~1 k! j * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
0 E5 p2 x' b+ j! W$ y: D/ B * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
4 _' y# }% ]4 R P& C% {7 C * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
! @7 J, L0 H+ d7 Y( S8 y * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
6 W9 d L0 x0 o) g! d: u * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies' k4 S4 G: i* G# Y
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
