Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
7 E# ^9 R+ r7 i( w (ages 6 to 15) ! p/ D: B4 _* ~) Z
- Recruit children for summer programs
8 Y; o1 }. y' x; `5 e: @' C" M- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
" R. p+ \, B; N' j7 K6 c. U9 a2 P2 n- Record keeping% {1 _2 W5 v4 u" z; a1 @3 l
- Provide orientation for parents
) V; x$ [5 ]; `9 d8 B" T) Z3 ~- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency( n6 ~7 t7 L4 O6 `$ L
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager7 x/ N4 t/ _8 ~* J0 {. m

Qualifications:; l# D4 W( w# v [/ g
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education! X; }0 w% Z9 K1 q
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children1 s8 m# @; `# V' q3 \& F/ Q
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills7 O, ~4 q& T1 R! [5 Z5 g
- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
; V/ r0 C$ g) b5 o$ F- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
' r6 b; @8 e8 \ k2 }- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
8 R* }' F3 @- ~6 z3 M- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision% Q" M; v! V( a: l1 T5 x9 M+ `% Z
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)2 d9 q1 \3 |4 _ `8 S1 c
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:7 g: ^1 j( E& K
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)
g7 C; f" Q. ?3 y- C7 W0 y' T and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)+ g& l& }' k: N5 S
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
