Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
- r) I+ C0 ~# N (ages 6 to 15) 4 m' K9 ~4 C! X2 k/ e6 \! B( B
- Recruit children for summer programs+ }% Y; K' U, x1 Q4 A P/ q
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs" I0 X5 Q" h+ f; K! ^
- Record keeping; S: i4 g: V# ~0 f6 S _
- Provide orientation for parents' K% M) ~% ]* k0 t6 m
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency3 l a: |! u/ q/ ?% s
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager/ E; G( v+ V5 x

Qualifications:5 }( y- f# `3 J
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education0 x3 d, D$ A( u0 y
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children- N1 p, {0 i# x- T' {! s
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
) ^; m7 o* x3 _$ |3 F: w- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities1 `& A' e5 }. Z* T$ i5 W( F
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese# q! Z5 |8 F9 j6 I& a) d
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities' M \$ ]. F& _/ @* U1 y0 n2 B6 M
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
) B9 F: ~6 O; ^ w% C' a# A- Returning student (should return to school after summer)

. g( I1 ?+ e& X6 O# h: }- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) . M$ i& T$ O; c6 S
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
6 O* h' U$ U s& H9 g- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
