Position title: Community Development Worker
5 R7 v! A3 k* j# y3 l3 g! y; u9 OTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
2 G+ k: B& q. g9 R' Q$ L        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
7 Q, B/ _6 Q* _) B  z0 E' R7 k) b& |. l" l-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
" p) z$ o' ?& [$ \9 c1 V-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
8 r. ]$ V% U- t8 ]: v" x/ W! V* P-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
) G/ J3 t( ~( \-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
) L6 u+ W$ R9 \. Q4 G-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
8 B7 J/ Y' j- |: k-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
9 G1 l9 c$ O( r6 a* ?) _$ Z; f
