does anyone know what different between postpone and delay?

When I write a report, some project were postponed/delayed? what is the different?

They certainly have similar meanings, but they are not interchangeable in many cases.

, T# t8 c% Z$ i& d* GIf something will be pushed back in time by a few hours, it's delayed. For example, weather can delay the departure of a plane.
! K: O- ~, n% C3 ~& D- N: N5 w! W# L' I
When something is pushed back to a specific date, days or even weeks later, it's postponed. A business meeting might be postponed because one of the key people got called out of town.
& N( n) q( y8 }* o4 I% ?
+ d  R& i/ H. P: N  a, W5 aOn the other hand, something like a product that is supposed to be released can be "delayed" (not postponed) for months.

感觉是从上级那里来DELAY,都是POSTPONE,下级那里来的就成了DELAY了。因为有人可以BLAME了。哈哈。。。
