Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

) I0 Z9 Z0 {- V c# CActivity Planning and Daily Activity2 Q* v8 N& h0 b7 {: [( Y3 k
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
/ F+ D& C( }& l# c ]• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 9 y* t3 d/ h+ t4 Z! a. j
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ' t: l5 n7 k- z
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants., ^! e. U' m2 P
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
: @/ y, ?7 x c* B$ q• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

& N) W& R! S" |' O) _/ T; l3 h4 y• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting o' ]+ U) p9 v& _4 |3 T) f1 V
• Experience with children& j' \' P. M7 r& `0 r
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ( y8 v) E4 ?* ], `
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
/ b' y& _+ P% D9 H• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.6 K( u* p' y2 c4 r
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
% S" y0 B5 e1 ~! R• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 1 \- t- m( Q" o6 X0 @% d, }
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check - b9 H' x) @ Q
