+ x; f7 Q! R# i& ?* g- MBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

) [( p) C4 P4 L' Q(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

4 A$ g3 L# }. q8 `* f- t+ MKey Responsibilities Include
% m) R% R& D5 i; Y9 o( {) {' @Activity Planning and Daily Activity
) y5 |1 p8 `( G- `•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
# a- O0 \1 m, T/ J•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
9 \' T2 \6 c3 p•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
7 P1 ?+ f; W! Q; M% q6 k•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

- L/ P5 c# `* l" dThe successful candidate will have:
6 J1 E5 z$ |: g  _. z4 ~$ r•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
/ U9 \6 |3 y! t, B  f7 o8 ]•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
+ C2 F8 M5 X6 m5 F( G•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
. X/ _0 j( ^# e" ]•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
