Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

Key Responsibilities Include
4 `: o' R' r3 q( B2 V; LActivity Planning and Daily Activity
' R7 C* B: O- x6 M• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
8 \" R# c& @3 s* c0 G• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. : I z$ J5 Q- ~2 [) ? b2 M
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ; I8 `3 S; l% e6 v/ ~' t
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.1 X! }% c2 k/ O# m! z, E2 J# C
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
4 x& Q; a: k2 v- _• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.! [$ n2 {, W9 |, m( _

The successful candidate will have:) v! w) `- n% e" [! h
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting F; G& S+ `; q E; A
• Experience with children. r( r9 K e4 _: n
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 8 I u/ \" p- f) R
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
8 f1 ^: s, @: z- ]) v. \% S• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
