Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Key Responsibilities Include:
7 Y2 e: a$ M4 z9 \2 @8 dActivity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
9 w1 p% K# k) n2 V- ?•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
- r2 [6 U7 s8 C/ |9 [) @- T- F* P•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
5 G4 j& L0 ~( s( L•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
+ z6 P; C; g  X5 h4 t; N  R. P: m0 l•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
0 T+ Z/ M5 ?5 m0 f•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
; u8 r8 O% g( W) F; R' C3 u/ h! [•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
5 M" M; o5 ?" l•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
