Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)' q$ F2 V, P N, a$ f( F) K: f* t

Key Responsibilities Include:
7 Y2 e: a$ M4 z9 \2 @8 dActivity Planning and Daily Activity6 Z& v+ l; N: B: w' }' f! |
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership. P: ]6 r; k* n2 S
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
9 w1 p% K# k) n2 V- ?• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
- r2 [6 U7 s8 C/ |9 [) @- T- F* P• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants." F, c) \9 ?9 ^1 Z/ U
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
5 G4 j& L0 ~( s( L• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.& d1 m2 G) P8 V3 y& n

The successful candidate will have:4 S4 w0 D: S& E: R4 V, F
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting O q3 C {4 X2 A2 }# ^2 x' @
• Experience with children
+ z6 P; C; g X5 h4 t; N R. P: m0 l• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
0 T+ Z/ M5 ?5 m0 f• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.. z$ S+ q3 R2 ~, H
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.2 |7 H* W' w+ @7 Y; D2 I
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
; u8 r8 O% g( W) F; R' C3 u/ h! [• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
5 M" M; o5 ?" l• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
