* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory2 w) @& |: ^6 e
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
# J: N0 B& _$ I# u * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps6 f6 F! v0 X' m; z
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
% Q- @4 c, E/ g+ u) S% t+ @/ \. g7 m * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations8 v$ d* D( R7 W: h, F- U

Qualifications
; p1 |& e, A6 ^( R" N' g7 f5 g+ A0 y/ ]( j
* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
* Z9 I/ i* v( C * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation4 q. W. E4 A, @+ P" l$ F. Q
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers) U) G# @9 o. g( D) Z. t3 v
* WHMIS training
x1 r% l3 k5 o * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
