* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
4 s( B' N' ^/ k- S9 B * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
, |) \: z/ L6 h! C6 o, t * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
& q& C; f! v, a1 t! l" N * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
- e( u$ e" A( O# c% U% D4 V; ]/ [ * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

: G I; m1 y9 N9 `3 w" s( \ * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred% h6 \0 A+ z8 k- H( W. I# T, Q
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
# H5 O9 s; I" G5 C! M * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers9 [5 w* Z# ^+ f+ k
* WHMIS training
7 K c6 w* a8 L4 c. |4 A7 H * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset5 F- k8 H) N( {' P' W
