Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: - K* x2 s( D% U+ X+ _/ g

Duties: Special Events
* r1 F' q# L# O. PPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
: [( v$ j1 J7 D+ x2 ?( j9 V· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee % {7 T: T. `* _# G M
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 1 u" c5 `+ j6 Z3 b# L
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 6 ~8 @% Y2 C2 A. u; B
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
% K5 ~* }7 X% o; x8 cset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:

· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 9 h9 V" k6 r0 R: q* t/ V: K [
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
( k8 ^4 j- h% d; L9 I' B) l2 u· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

· Completion of 12th! E+ z+ b/ u# \7 b+ S
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation $ P8 g' s0 t. s+ x- U N( f
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ! S' t& R: |" [$ s
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct . {4 W' h9 s) g, P* K$ K8 l
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events . v7 _8 @: j1 T8 L- A+ u8 q9 s* g
· Experience working with and managing volunteers $ \+ J5 R7 a, x6 e
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training & H3 m4 ~# p) b

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
