Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 0 W$ {1 I2 ?9 G/ F T, N
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 1 q, V- ~" W) o% D i

Duties: Special Events ! d# \) X, r; p' N; z9 z
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 6 L/ D" @4 Q/ X3 |+ G
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
& k, V1 J) y2 D$ I/ b· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
* n. @5 X' B+ jwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
) E& e# s6 Q* K) M: ^advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
* \7 W0 ^- F' r* K: B/ R+ g' yset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

4 X( ~$ t) c# |+ [8 a; HAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
; u& E" D: @/ N9 m. F2 D; y· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
' l& H8 L1 q( Y4 x· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers ( y" k( h# E8 D
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers , \1 y0 V) F+ g: O
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 3 X. v2 Y5 x# F; ?/ y
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: 8 p4 Z0 X9 H3 U% M- ]- b, \
· Completion of 12th
8 ]* Y3 h% S/ T4 o* A7 ]7 j9 ~ Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation + a2 u, l+ q: Y- w! Y8 J& |/ Y
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. $ H7 x1 \4 g, }" z
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct $ q5 Q- y3 F }- P
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
! r# t! P7 F& X- ^/ @: g· Experience working with and managing volunteers
* g* ?: E( V+ ]% q* `5 ?1 [· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
