Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Duties: Special Events
) o1 o* h9 G( _" b; _Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: $ O3 v8 r' T6 o _' F
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
9 w- D* C4 C# n· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist % g7 ]# |" w! T1 j- e* A" o
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the * w7 W7 a4 ]4 B
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
; { W" d5 k# tset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 1 d, h, o9 `, [$ e
· Attend and manage Special Events @' B+ W( H; Q! w6 p
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

7 p/ A0 i3 E, [6 U* w. nAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:

b% Y, t( t: m* T' H% O· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers $ o0 `8 X2 |6 w) F
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers + {* N' J/ p2 l' C
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers p5 i R8 W6 L1 ]+ x
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications:
8 E0 W- E* Z9 e· Completion of 12th
& A* U B( n V1 [* [ Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
+ f' S& R1 z9 H+ [Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 5 |. k& H! @9 Q3 i, v! t* |
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
7 E' V0 H6 O' u. Xexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ! M0 ?! Z& t' s1 p0 D
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ( J2 y/ Q. W/ V1 u5 S! s
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work , R# @. ^& T+ Z1 T. z2 ]
