Duties: Special Events
" x; I2 \# {# i/ m' M0 J0 [Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ' ?% g0 ~" g* T9 W
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee : d8 N, B7 a* ` Y4 n
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ( s% t- C# w: s7 j4 K1 g
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 3 U4 c% k0 o" }+ a. w- w
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
- e2 {/ V6 I0 [) Y9 _7 x1 Iset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. ! `3 d+ d/ s1 p3 |% @7 s+ l
· Attend and manage Special Events

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: * Z& z3 {) O/ h( L9 v
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions : s/ Y, \( |0 o N# y/ x) l- O
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 0 B9 ]: P8 Q! ~
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
/ g/ e- j0 M$ t7 c! v) {· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 6 h8 y' ?, p0 A, n
· Complete program administration, statistics and records & a9 x7 n/ x# Y+ O' c

Qualifications: - j) e9 p3 j- Q& S
· Completion of 12th, a7 T0 J. X* H, a; b
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
1 J8 N% \7 ]$ u* yAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 8 Z0 z: D$ W/ P( @. w) ^0 _
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
, x6 b9 X% |: U- F0 }' sexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
! F! y6 ?7 H" L& O0 H- G* P; _7 o4 s· Experience working with and managing volunteers
2 i1 c8 b( h. X( d7 c· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
