Police arrest two men after complaint of smelly truck carrying 1,500 pot plants

EDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants.. A: P) z4 C2 S- R1 O
+ X2 J- I4 t$ }Police say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.% ^( D$ b$ {" _6 h: I" \

Officers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van. s0 T; s) @1 S/ u; j: _

Police say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.

6 j: ^. N( C% h( LRoughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking have been laid against Dihn Xuan Luu, 44 and Deng Xuan Dihn, 51. |
