CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.3 `- v- e! V( j0 }0 ^0 [4 m

+ G* P' B& d2 C0 S) m* q• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.& P6 j  ~; O4 y" p4 g- |2 k, b
& K2 g# j# ~" B0 j+ I
• Complete data entry in various programs.
$ m8 G- [6 t+ \: d" E$ n- B6 @% ^7 M  F* a
• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.2 p) r7 G1 e9 r0 g

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.3 M4 e: a- Z# F  O9 ~: E% P5 r$ ?

• Meet weekly with Program Managers to define priorities.( y& G% ?2 M2 {0 V! C

& ~* u# P% _4 I& j) o8 o0 k• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Manage mail outs for fund development or education purposes with support of Program Managers.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.' Z9 V' ^4 j, {5 ~

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

5 Q: |) e! y( I/ g  l( g! i" P• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.% ?5 I# T, l/ ~9 e' X" n

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.
7 P) H5 k2 P; W7 w6 d3 u& ]& r! T+ c. [# F$ y
• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.* m2 t' ~# p+ |& R  i' a7 ^
' q6 C+ T% z# K  O: a" E. D
• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.+ D$ Z3 l: T0 F5 K- b
. P+ P& K+ w3 k% \. Q7 Y( @; _" m* m. z
• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

. Q9 K! P- r4 G9 f1 _! F! S% z* P• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions1 p" n$ Z; r# k+ _! d* [$ L% }

- e6 A7 u/ Q3 M6 y) v2 G• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.2 ^( Z- v0 t- m) i+ p/ a9 S

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting2 E& L% }# K2 Q1 _0 ]6 ?

) d1 p* ^/ I! y$ M/ ^8 }/ d: r• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

/ L1 q/ Z3 P. U9 ?Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Spanish language abilities are an asset.

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.& u1 e- E2 H( z6 f$ u; a, F
