Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.8 Y# B+ A/ O( _7 R* j5 K+ K

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.+ Q& \1 b4 N- p7 ?6 N. m

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.% l) G& s0 S! c$ y. `
, `+ _% r T8 [# N( ~( S& `• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

7 p7 o3 p" L- K• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.* N% b. \) U2 \4 i

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions6 g$ _, j+ S- |5 M
+ `/ ~$ h7 U7 w5 I! w0 n- H! q• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.
