THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
+ Z5 P+ k) V$ N! }. T0 w, }24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
3 v. |1 Z' S7 f# g1 \This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
" f4 M& `# o, }( I: [- R+ jAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
# m) h) u( D. D# ^' G•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
; [$ _( X9 K$ e6 ?4 B•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
6 [- J1 ?& A( F•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
- L, A/ r& I7 h. w•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
5 P2 l5 O4 T) l' Q4 V+ s, a2 M•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
, q- L1 Q: }0 Z+ R, r# a# z5 y•Be eligible to work in Canada
, v2 ]+ x8 S. U•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
9 F! J& o4 v6 x9 Z( ]# S•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
+ N- N2 D6 S% e- q# z9 ZTime Commitment
* r6 {; m, k' E& ^$ {The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
