24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS - C) o; A* q6 N% n- g1 J7 ZThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.7 K5 v5 g4 F/ ~ Eligibility Criteria 3 g0 {( O& \! T% q* `; C1 r; X; JAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria: 5 F3 N: e3 H; M- O. A Z9 F0 z•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less5 ?$ {4 T" s+ k H
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education. Z- J( a0 W( u8 m( E; q
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English1 c" @* W( w1 x
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada # l4 m( T- |# C3 g: W) F: v7 m
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field ' h; T1 y. J- t. F" r. {! f$ i•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less+ a9 t% u3 _' _
•Be eligible to work in Canada8 h! J6 |# L" C2 w% a* w% a. b& N
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop ! Y4 V1 `: u- k6 H4 \$ I•Lack access to professional networks - l' `2 C" V* ?6 i" \2 N•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning ) s1 @8 u) y1 j* d& v0 a- p7 F$ W# XTime Commitment # e) g8 J$ r; y/ qThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week. 3 n5 ]4 ?7 @+ Q" {* v% aMentees who meet the program requirements are welcome from any profession and must complete the Mentee Application Form.
