THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
3 x4 b% j7 c" [. f24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
0 n6 }) g6 M: y1 A9 L: wEligibility Criteria
) ]. \! @3 u8 aAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
7 C7 w  |1 c! e. B* o•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
6 r* _, Y& x- ]7 e! n0 h0 q•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
/ b3 o1 H- |( `* p•Be eligible to work in Canada
8 R6 a$ s% r' r3 M5 }•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
( D0 M5 e' b' X/ g1 B: b5 R. U  w•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
9 W7 @. j: b" ZThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
