a) What version of the game will be played for the tournament?

The official DotA version for all Ladders is : 6.62b.

b) What mode will the game be? (CM/CD/RD/AP etc.)

If you beat the other team, you will keep playing until top 3.

g) Do independents get paired up with other independents or, how does that work? What happens if there isn't enough or there's a number that doesn't work out etc.

: X8 ]# @# T7 x! j5 g& F- tAll independent players will be in a playing pool. And we will select a captain and then captain will select their players from the pool. If not enough players, we can pick up players from other team.

Format: Format: single elimination till top 3. If you lose you game in the first round, you can buy in for a second life.

For example, if there are 16 teams, we will play on 2 days. 8 teams each day. top 4 team will be selected and we are going to have a match on another day, which will be decided by those top 4 teams. If there are only 8 teams, we will play on Nov. 7th only.
