To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:

0 q5 N6 e/ e7 H' f1 \have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician
8 z2 c+ Q' F: {Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.7 O1 u3 E% w0 f1 l8 @" f
" Q" ?( J2 \% Ycomplete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office: }0 d7 N6 V3 Y% N
2 b" p# W* |: P! npay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above

PThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
