Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).
Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.
Closing Date: Open until a suitable candidate is found.


Responsibilities:
6 `* H# l  M% n% [' x% z-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
- P& {7 w! w* U, i. W-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
! B5 G& o& S; S5 ^& l7 e8 P; _+ g-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health
8 `* r/ A) m$ Q/ R$ _

Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
5 R& [. L  {+ w- Y- \-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
. ?# S6 D; a! r- j5 F-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
( Y& z( W# I0 J7 l( i: g9 q6 _- |( f-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
5 ^' u% z, C. q4 r-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
: R! H0 w6 F: d4 p-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
' i/ [9 G& @3 `6 x-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
