Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
4 b8 ] T' y/ P8 Z# k% x& |0 e- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
0 @5 C6 {& R- k+ o2 t- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups. X$ q0 O0 M" G8 H* Y. j
- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs% r: ?6 k+ h X" y! I6 y
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:4 f, K6 i) b6 V" ]- y8 A5 z3 ]7 x
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
+ l' ?3 ]& _: W: T9 U) d- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
0 z# j8 l& R* q" |( s* _# Y7 ^- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others7 \# I9 |1 R0 z
- Experience doing program development
) O, Z8 u5 A0 V- Strong organizational and coordination skills) v: {" y( t8 Z, U; B, T: N) K# g
- Self-directed and able to take initiative5 A5 f. d! F5 m# h; R
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset' S, y1 M% z) W( }
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license- b6 ?5 M; P) I) A2 V
) ~; B1 z" }% U1 h, i* U, n, ~/ K$ _4 R5 b2 b

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation# r+ M6 t. n G3 M) f
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities

- Some evening and weekend work may be required
