Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.
Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).

Responsibilities:
$ W& Y  h$ k7 k) N, }/ h-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
" o8 C2 G# A  x8 w) Z: G# t-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
6 P. k3 e( H- m9 J-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
: H1 u6 b- g  K; X# @  ~  e-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
$ [7 m% y1 E9 ^# _$ Q# c+ q-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

# _4 g5 E0 g9 Z# P& _  Y/ SKey Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
" k2 X" B$ E3 `) d-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
% J) s1 E  O' y6 k0 L  t( L! u-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
9 d) c6 O' y3 A+ |-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
1 y. L. A$ e' w) S2 M1 y4 d-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
  G! e$ y6 i. ?' o# B! l/ I-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
: ]7 ~; R( c6 J-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
* {1 Y. x. l4 V% B-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
