Terms: Full-time (35 hours per week).

Responsibilities:
# \* _6 a: E# {1 e$ L. R" J-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
% |* E1 H- I3 t5 `: V; f$ H-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
  v8 P; B/ C/ R. t3 n; w; v! M. i7 {-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
0 k& \7 `$ Y+ \-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
9 W# l  a1 c0 B2 C3 O/ H* e5 ~-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
' `7 m, a: J( x# I) b6 @" ]1 I- [-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
" v+ Z" G# D# O7 S0 v! C0 H-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
* y8 R  T0 r2 P-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
