Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
7 G! |; _/ x+ d, B# h-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
! y+ D3 F+ m, w( B+ d! B-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

) o* a2 V. v  o' z, a8 ]Key Qualifications:
2 x" V, d4 X% d0 F1 B4 ^/ n4 f-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
9 |4 }# r4 Y0 ?+ c0 n2 p' Y6 d-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
" X! G& ~4 P* N-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
1 E4 ^/ u$ ~' x1 B; q8 ~- s8 X-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
* D& |+ p( }) o. P, B) E-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license
) S. s0 h) i& x- `

Assets:
- M- _% c$ F$ D3 s) x5 n7 l-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
- j2 q4 S# V' ~" E$ O% u-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
