Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
; ~6 y3 R" {3 p+ O9 x7 k6 u% MWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
: t. ^% p6 e* O) |/ [- B& qMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
  G0 E& z0 {: }4 Z/ U8 u/ w- F3 IIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
1 Y" }% J" k, s9 o. Z  L- j5 NParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
+ _, J/ x& x7 P$ SQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
# v; V2 A( h6 `* p9 T' V+ E. CComputer skills an asset.
& _5 w$ ^5 c* I6 C9 r6 vAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
  s4 i; A+ d5 k+ P, {4 ]$ k" hProficiency in a second language is an asset.
