Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
6 A. Q6 ]" S+ z- V r3 s) v After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. ) y7 d* I* b' z" T5 n7 r+ Q
It is a cycle.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.( Q s8 _- |* x) I0 W8 K
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.2 x8 [# @# x; |! _
The problem should be inside the bucket.

0 _6 O+ E; q4 G. Q$ }When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.% A# k4 H0 R& C. T6 o& c
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
5 |$ W9 B1 M+ @8 W9 T. p; S0 r* b$ lConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.5 o9 {( n& R$ \

The next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.; n# [# N3 E& y
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
& D5 Y- ^+ d* j+ l It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them. % G) O$ [2 b: N+ l5 _
