The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.# @9 {! v+ g+ o- y6 ^: C

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers
v! W& n9 S1 B7 S8 D" j§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution ) F3 o: D7 Q6 D: U7 h
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
3 s& F: w* ?& o( a, O$ {5 L) e§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
* u- f1 n7 T$ z6 F" _5 \§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
# ^' B$ l R' v: A. j+ f§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert

§ May be required to provide after hours pager support for emergency trouble calls

Qualifications:
9 w6 M: K3 z" G§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience/ k$ J% W; l) n' B2 t( Z4 [9 `
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision
7 w" Y: N. m* q0 f4 d§ Fundamental commitment to customer service( H" n1 N7 f, l s& z$ x
§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues
: K# I- u0 D& Q§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware/ V# `2 I5 @* ?3 v9 [( F
§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software% p. ]2 a$ i, e$ t3 W) z1 m
§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems! k8 \5 d4 D* m$ j6 s: V! Position Summary:
" Y9 J c& A( MThe IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Manage a stable local IT environment / L/ D3 W: y7 o4 u& J

§ Oversee and provide small systems technical support/ H, M( S1 G5 \/ `
§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives

§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
/ n* ^; C0 D6 C1 D§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to+ U [* H0 k+ K8 E I. U' {
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times" ? R' v9 G8 w8 O+ C( J& m
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
: F" x) }! w+ c/ t! `/ z9 X§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures+ G) S& C/ u7 x# T0 r6 f4 q, ` W
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan/ ^3 {9 o3 R9 o1 l4 N- t
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk2 h' q& p2 n, O# G l3 t

§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance

§ Collaboration on development of internal intranet and external website maintenance
