The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: # C0 Z/ w2 T8 R' r

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ n' f, ]' A+ _6 t# gthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by " Q, v/ b' n& X
the Board of Directors;
- E4 H" A9 o' J+ f! H* J• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
5 U! z4 V! @9 q4 ~including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to - r6 |) }9 c( T1 ]& p% Z5 h
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
2 c. P+ Y7 `* ` V& V* P* i: C• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and ! @' @3 R- L! o8 ~0 J! T( m
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by " I3 w u0 ~8 ~" b: \) c
the board;

3 Q4 V' q8 A6 S3 {• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion - x! Z% }+ F4 K0 [
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; ) M" p5 i- A+ U7 `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the + h& a! o* G" r( Q1 b; s
changing needs of the organization and community; 3 [ X: N" Z9 B: S
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 F7 N, q5 c, Q) t& Y9 J! H: Y! l
commitments;
7 p" U3 G# n W$ C5 s: _$ n• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 4 l Z* t6 D+ g
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective - `9 y6 n! E1 W
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; / }& Z$ G& j6 m5 v! R
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; , c* D( K( u0 \
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to Q* i& y0 E) w) K
effectively and positively represent the association;

# T$ B9 t2 X+ L4 E• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
! u9 m9 O3 O, l. j7 z: {the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
" @, {- m7 W% I+ b$ J! z, L• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 2 ^- I j: V; E: `0 V9 G3 p
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED \% @4 q* _4 X( e
the forthcoming year;
5 P6 Y/ ^* }$ o0 g• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical - |( S( {) C0 q1 e% N" Q
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ; D( _6 l2 B/ I8 t T1 l

Required Professional Designation / Certification
+ {+ M) F- o7 W+ K' B8 m: ~• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 5 k# P6 Z# |# o; A2 g3 m

Required Experience 3 L* M/ l# o' Q% L
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; - O* q( Z# {/ G" j% o7 F4 J+ `
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation & z* m5 c, B8 o {' k
abilities;
6 S7 Z$ \! g! S% Q/ A4 y( U- T• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
9 U) N& V; n. Q/ O) T+ r' t3 @Networking and Fundraising;
) y' ^; m9 x& F8 L2 i• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting ' C0 c2 p/ `) a" M; }& o
and financial statements; and : q" @+ c' z) j: N
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
