Specific responsibilities include: 4 F+ j5 Z E- F

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of * Y/ ?- ]" h" k9 P2 P
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by 1 \( x5 b! t$ A$ Z! \+ t

• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations # ~4 J# _# W i) o8 I' n: i
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to & l: i5 _0 O) n6 n; M4 Q: s c
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
( }! e+ S! q5 b% [• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and * e$ I7 ]( \6 v
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; 0 r' V! c; E' Y' ~$ l D+ B
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion ! q7 w; r% e4 g
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; * Z; _1 \7 I: ` i9 `
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
- w! v# ^4 Q% A8 vchanging needs of the organization and community;
, A! H' b' }0 B4 m2 k• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
* G* \ {3 `& l! jcommitments;
/ X; {; e' \2 m/ ]• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
/ U7 @' A; K/ q6 z& N" Q& X3 P• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective ! M3 J+ |( ^: Y: z* d
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
! f; k) X$ a8 z/ e: f% C% Y• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; ; N- D1 a2 X6 ?! m) \: ]1 Y
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to & D* @8 V% [/ K) G2 Y4 h
effectively and positively represent the association;

- o# t, u2 P5 s! [- Z5 t• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 0 R( B) p* S" [& ?* O
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
' s9 L+ r6 N3 b8 n! Z" h6 C• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
+ G6 w: w4 }' c9 \* E- R6 }performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED y8 s, y3 N% D
the forthcoming year; / N! \7 d ?% Q/ p
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
& o8 g c. S% W2 u6 Q$ G" y1 |practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of $ y8 h7 y. e: s S" i0 T, n

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task " I& n& X( L" n9 S

Required Professional Designation / Certification
, E* G8 u# {- R• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.
$ o" {+ D0 ^% w2 i( \( c
& C# l/ H( r8 eRequired Experience 6 N1 n& {, [3 e
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
6 J2 K% v# S, B! {• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation , r& q1 @, _+ y
abilities;
2 j. W- ?& @7 k; `- M• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, 6 { W$ A' J2 Z N# n& p2 Q
Networking and Fundraising; - ?' ]% q5 m5 T
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
/ g7 Y! `% z, vand financial statements; and ; Z3 n' P' V: C
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
8 A! ~; a4 v% c* c1 ?centered perspective.
