Recruit Participants
4 k% N6 E; F& ^$ L3 C5 F' t! v
-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
& B, l7 J2 J8 j# j-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities

Organize Leadership Training Sessions
2 D/ a4 C/ h7 A: j-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
, m# H. X8 L4 B# v$ z-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
, n/ J: @' f% z+ _-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas
" d$ l1 j! N* O7 h& I4 {
Plan and Facilitate identified public events
-        with youth participants

Media coverage
-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project
/ z5 G# @6 K2 s+ m" E. @6 x& u
4 x: @" q! Z) f, j( xNetworking
-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
- U1 [" F0 K; X/ i) l8 T9 H-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

4 G. H1 Y) i* y! d9 S0 H4 N1 }: eProfessional Development
-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

Proposal Creation
; _4 E: B7 P9 ?$ w-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

Reports to Funders and Program Manager
; ^8 H9 P' P! `* e+ i-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

Project Evaluation
-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
4 R7 j1 b# x8 e' B9 e-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model

Qualifications for this Position

" F0 X  W& [' t; T/ E-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
% e4 t6 y1 C" {7 S$ f% J-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
6 N+ ~% l1 w' P$ m-        experience with project coordination
-        degree or diploma in human services field
-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
