现在台式机基本家家户户都有，而且很多家庭有不止一台。故调查一下，
可以给新手买机器一个参考。如果能说明购买的原因就更好了。可以多选。

刚来的时候什么都不懂，所以自己攒了一台。其实没省到钱。

后来明白了shopping之道，买了一台Dell的Poweredge 420SC。配置是：
3.2G 800Mhz CPU, 512M ECC MEM, 80G SATA HD, 1 CD-ROM, 2 external floppy, on-board
video card & eternet card, no warranty. 加上税$280。
一生一直引以为豪（当时那个CPU就要卖$400）。

俺是从国内带的cpu、主板、显卡、硬盘、内存和线。过来后买的新电源、音响、无线网卡，二手显示器、声卡。自今还没有机箱，全裸的放在office里，每每引得老外注目。

感谢各位的回答。相信可以让很多人受益。这里点评一下。

这个结果我想还是出不少人意外的。很多人选择了组装，更有不少从国内
带配件来这儿，不过已经有不少人指出，买品牌机其实更省钱。当然要等到
打折的时候再下手，加上有Warranty保证，比自己组装好多了。

Dell台式机应该有很大市场。与笔记本不同的是，Dell台式机的质量也很不错。
唯一不爽的地方是你无法在local 店里买，定完以后可能还要等2个星期才能
寄到。HP还是有一定市场，本人从来没买过/用过，所以不便评价。

Of course, I know self buildup may cost even more money as you want every component in the box is the best. I want choose an onboard soundcard and onboard video, instead, I will choose much better video and sound card, so does motherboard.

a better computer deserves a higher price.
