) B! Q- e( ]2 o+ y0 C% c* N' FAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
+ k: }' V: r* I/ Z" x$ O" c• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
: W+ b1 [' Y$ `7 i! R( H& ZBi /Reporting/ETL
" Q3 E/ R4 j) }• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
  W8 @) `1 g* X" U3 ^• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
- n/ C% N0 ^# n2 H9 C2 T• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
: `$ o2 X6 N6 v7 ?  z: A• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
, D2 B4 J$ m9 h2 ^1 [' Q• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
& L6 p8 ~% Z, G* k0 B/ K% r• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
$ W/ p# r( `) u& f6 d* `• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
: v8 |( _( l/ o, a2 P4 i• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
