Critically-injured child dies（重伤男孩不治身亡）

A 13-month-old Edmonton toddler died Saturday morning in a local hospital, two days after being admitted in critical condition. Homicide detectives charged a 44-year-old man with second-degree murder in the little boy’s death.

/ T2 g: F4 l) S8 f, ?The baby was brought to the hospital at 10 a.m. Thursday with serious injuries. Hospital staff alerted police and social services to his life-threatening condition.

The boy died shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

1 S9 \8 y: M( x+ Q8 V/ s, QThe name of the accused and the victim can not be released due to a provision of the Child Youth Family Enhancement Act, which prevents release of any details identifying the child, their siblings or their guardians.

  Q) y# R- s4 NThe accused man will appear in court on Monday. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
