Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
1 a7 g6 O+ d+ T2 ]1 A5 q Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
: ^& t" H  [% r3 {3 |: Q, I3 g2 C0 U Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
2 Q2 r/ x* I% \4 ?4 \1 Q& |: d3 S Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
6 }; u; z2 }: ^6 k. p: {* s& v Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
. V9 C8 H3 A- N" ` Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
$ H( @) B3 ^7 ~/ C0 \4 d6 {7 ~ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
# m- i! R  K2 H9 ~3 E* s5 i Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
- D& \  F/ X3 c2 _; e Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
  k. [/ W5 h- u8 ustarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
