Key Responsibilities & Duties:
5 g7 ]! K) ^- C) S# w
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
% i5 l/ Q! s5 [+ B' k Completing required paperwork.
% |! f% g  a- v- K4 L+ K) V Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
/ ^1 p9 D$ e9 I( m3 q9 G; ? Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
( q+ B8 |, `  j/ p0 k9 S& A( ]4 ?! o- g2 n Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
( D, z* K* ~0 r, k2 z& r8 ^ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
/ h; i# i) ]' V
5 D: K3 j! Y1 B) M' t& V* e( A  M Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
' q& C; s* P' K& S Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
- _5 _; x' {4 ?. E) U Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
- P) s) j- j% V. [This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
* H2 ^8 U' `) B7 zstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
