Key Responsibilities & Duties:

" M/ G- M* k3 E  C' y8 B) ^ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
2 Y$ U& B# c6 \& N3 i9 c4 W( A Completing required paperwork.
' J9 [4 L% z! }( {: U Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
. M+ ]( T+ x4 b* ~) l* V  l Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
" ]( q& E. b; d' G5 y$ S" V" [* D Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
0 T& u7 @- w' e$ M Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
% X0 w) q. w- @* R; [# e5 @) O8 L Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
; {" h2 y! T7 c9 }$ l! B0 d Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
" M, u/ H5 V' \) [* H* L1 g Knowledge of community resources.
: C# ?" k+ X6 N/ p3 { Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
1 p! j! b" [- g6 Q: [ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
