Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
9 _$ i+ Q) u/ l# K•        Process research equipment design;
( s# G; v$ {; B1 H6 E  ]•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
' f8 f2 y( A4 a! ~$ E•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
1 {+ E& Q3 t" D: \4 m•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
& m4 s7 O9 q3 |- G. T3 G; |•        Others.

Qualifications:
•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
9 A" u- U6 U  U•        Equipment design experience is required;
9 w. J0 E" v( ]# F3 R7 r•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
% W- S& s# M& _3 C•        Familiar with CAD software;
; B' h) T5 ^, o% A- t( Y) |•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

2 n8 r0 i5 y8 b0 S( C  A  P) p& xSuccessful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
