The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
' ?/ m4 h9 c$ U$ v2 k \• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
. A. I7 o1 W i0 |& o, A! Y$ A• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.5 ]) H0 g+ D2 Y: o& E! h
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
; i2 d* i2 l8 v. b0 }. u• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
& r! h' S/ U$ p# N ?8 x) T• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.4 h% D" I- L$ R' h
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.8 B' E) V+ ]* W* }# R5 b
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.- T, {& D" F2 |8 ^( t' b& L
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities" [8 D; L3 R. o$ R* V- |
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required# O, D( d" g$ @

• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up" H& i# l+ Y$ c# h! h
) I7 b6 _! ^0 ]0 @ADMINISTRATION
+ z2 Z6 R& x0 F+ X• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position* D" ]* ]! P9 n/ R' n; Y2 x0 ^5 v* Z! Y
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation* s' |8 Y E5 x& u
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
+ @8 D' p4 ]3 e& }$ q• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department: \5 p& a. ~% `) ]% z. U ?0 P
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ]0 ?1 v& j! ~: f7 q3 a& w
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency$ i6 d8 H3 v( C0 ?3 N n: w
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
0 }8 x) P- l: q• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
# p* w% W; q) s$ @4 W3 |3 g4 J• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
0 A2 d' x' Z- @! g- }) r/ g9 ]• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
$ q9 T- o, ~6 A2 @# B• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
! u: {$ q" e) ]' T+ K6 Z7 f• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
( M1 Z0 [7 o" E2 c6 u! D• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:3 v# l/ K, U" J5 X0 S

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination! Q2 z) o9 E/ o/ h
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability. H% M% Y" Z6 f# f6 y
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
" U3 \3 A6 {+ y8 p6 H- l• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
