The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

- M/ W2 o( _. q) QJob Responsibilities:4 M# v- G+ v6 ~0 z9 v6 ~* E

; V. H) A9 q/ {% Y& a+ F9 rOPERATIONS  X- c' C1 k- k  T6 n- m5 [
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
! O/ |$ {! F+ B  h! Q  k9 y•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
5 J0 S$ w- E' T$ y- J$ \% S•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge- ?* o0 J* p/ {- ^
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
' f# D% J4 S' w  i•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
! X/ Q8 Q) e7 `' D! b+ k6 a3 {5 u" J•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
( ~+ U. i4 d3 F) w' `6 t•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
% B5 f5 K0 C/ _8 h$ n0 E•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities7 m" B/ `2 f3 U* X
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required3 E2 O& `4 J0 i; V

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING " V3 r7 _3 j& F% q+ Z$ a
•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO2 c' K  T- ^! A: O  f/ S: B, l
•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION: N) r8 w7 Y2 j( k/ y* m6 O
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
3 Z! ^! r# c# q  l•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
* {; n) d8 |9 @2 G3 H% S•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate" J5 i' l; I# T5 M& Z2 f4 K9 `
•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department! c+ e- @* j8 h4 }5 q0 ^& u; i( G( F
•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
0 p5 S% ?) g. p# i3 y; b•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
$ w" i2 K- h, ?2 _9 G9 B- `( L•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
  z4 d. ^2 {" ^) j/ i; `- L•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

1 E" ^; O! |8 C$ s•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances- u) k5 p8 E- q9 T; ?2 n  X
•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required2 Y# j& D+ o% F5 Q: v+ [

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS" |* d- r7 l- q+ ?
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
# p, }  D% b) w1 i7 [' W6 B; L1 I•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
; `5 W7 Q& s% ]$ m; D0 I5 x•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate - W4 |$ x# @: S6 e* W
•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required/ Z5 v, D" ?4 B6 [' p' H8 T8 i

Qualifications:# Y5 H9 D* b" j) I( I# ]. U# D% h

; P0 `* m4 f% }+ S3 {% F4 H•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination# }  \' x. w% b
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
4 d6 a5 _  `8 ^9 N3 y- J•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills6 n5 M* ]1 m! r3 Y6 ?& m% r
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
4 F( }3 M+ ^( b$ T4 u•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure1 J7 U9 R! ?4 k1 }+ F8 L6 E
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects % B9 j8 l' }! O; e8 ^! J6 l$ D8 e
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality. Z" C! F( Q* s
•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial $ ]0 e- u; K5 n0 E3 r
