The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

6 ` o* O" v7 ?( E$ Z& l• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
3 n& X; j/ c* c$ b6 M' a6 v4 X• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.: J6 i" X1 z1 j* ]9 s1 |1 o* b! t
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge4 l4 w, e' {1 h- O
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
5 T( ?* X, V8 B) M1 E, r7 ?• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.- r* Y t: `8 Z6 b/ s8 d4 T. ^9 C
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities% p7 Q% Q8 r; Z8 I0 j
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

7 T8 i0 l/ H7 s# I K• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
$ R, h3 ~7 p2 J% o$ ]3 k3 W• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position+ Q( h: p4 Z1 F* y( `- s# {
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
1 P( r+ x+ f/ ~. e- y+ [0 }• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
- J/ U) d5 V' }4 Y5 Z• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
5 v }+ h; [ H( |# ^( \6 c( ^) R• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 8 G- m3 z; D& t T7 g C5 g
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency/ f0 x7 g6 j- I: v% P q
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
& U J1 k$ u& n* I1 ^• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes0 S! n+ A+ y6 F/ V
• Prepare a regular monthly program report! u* U4 o7 q% b/ l3 R) S

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required( }! G. ]" f$ D( N0 X0 B1 ?9 a; B5 K

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
4 ~7 \/ ]! p) d( b( M$ Z8 i& d' K• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
1 G y2 m% [9 k. _• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)2 E; \* i3 G) N' u" d
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
+ L- ?% K7 s& _0 b5 z/ M7 W• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required) }% E9 V$ z k! Q. v) ?

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination& I$ v' ~9 S3 B2 F. E% p3 Z
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability- V. b( Q8 E# m% A. |1 I* a1 H
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills9 Q+ P; a9 `+ n+ v
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ) Q! Z1 _ d5 m/ T( q6 b
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure% c, r3 _0 O I! b5 s
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
