Key Responsibilities & Duties:

* m4 F$ I7 O9 _0 z Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth./ v" I T% w6 F; c% U3 F
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.# i3 y1 d8 C6 \4 R0 z9 Y
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.) u0 z# A; J- n" r
 Completing required paperwork.
& w! p! o/ g# D1 G Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.* _2 [, G8 n0 f% G
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.7 x' s. `1 G1 e' ~+ y
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
! _6 r" s w: ]" } Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.8 \# c; H( B: P8 N0 Q1 I
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.4 `# @- o: y+ \% n& J2 K( f
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.6 G3 x5 U0 }, e3 f9 k% q

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
" l$ C2 h* B, K: {8 ?2 k! T Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
( d: W6 S* c- v. ` f Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 \' p! ^# e/ w; M, P Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc." U' U4 ^/ \- E2 Z9 a
 Knowledge of community resources.
! ^7 z8 F% ?1 x Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
; c9 `: @ Z8 N. c% x8 X Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% _' |& m6 j. v/ iThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
' ^! \% q' v$ o- h& T a* istarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
