Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.4 j( \8 b" t$ E% |/ K7 ^) f
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.

 Completing required paperwork.
8 x3 S* X' H' e Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops. W/ P2 p5 H4 q& M
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.3 O" J8 L+ Y% p; H# \* [3 z
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. Y5 A8 d$ @4 v) z
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
' \9 g' s9 W2 Y1 D4 E/ }( O" W Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.4 }! e9 M7 M, t6 k+ L4 Q
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.1 j5 R) _) r M! s
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.8 e' m {0 H! k* \! w4 z

/ r$ P7 x) x& `; O4 U9 y9 K Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
' C. H( y) b1 s* G- b5 B Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
! n( }5 I* q7 h8 J2 @7 r Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
. E) A, Y6 N+ ^8 x Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.5 Y6 U( D& l0 G
 Knowledge of community resources.
8 m- H) o2 r; S Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.! N% @9 N4 C3 D
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
1 ]- W' \8 I8 J" R2 s- iThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
6 c- m3 ~5 N$ v& u# b$ mstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
