Key Responsibilities & Duties:

* r' V2 @; C+ T6 J' q Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
! z7 l9 C5 y; M' E! H Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
8 _  @# }& S0 l; q% i Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
3 @) u! c+ ~( W0 _. E, u  Q Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 }& M& z6 e# o+ L. Y+ o' M  w Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
! P! S' Y/ ]6 G+ j; j/ e1 H Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

$ z  t' i* z) V: g* O$ [, K# f Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
) N% N" c# E! j& x( s& P Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
" l7 w) a; m2 ` Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
2 E. Q6 `9 |' J) j  n% [/ z Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! q6 k8 r7 \0 [0 [$ [, @2 C- ^ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
