Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
, j; X$ C6 @+ ?- H" ?  e* y- g Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
. K$ b- l: p+ i$ `0 @( ` Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
4 T; w/ H2 S# _6 t/ N Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
! C% k1 m* \3 B- Q Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
0 G  x# V) v1 S; K: { Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
7 b! U7 b2 S% `( Z" l4 e( j. N Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
/ {+ F+ l! y/ F6 x
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
- W# ~! z5 ?, v3 Q; V( k8 ? Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
# R# A/ Y: c9 `% o# v Knowledge of community resources.
# b6 L& L% t( n& Q5 D3 I1 g) }! P Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
; c% v3 Y9 C9 N4 T2 t( ]2 M: m/ J) O
Position:
! {; U+ ?0 N9 x* g& ]This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
