Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ ^. o4 S% r8 T: W Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
" P( X2 \, |& I Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
0 N; I8 T0 }0 K. v, w Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
" B8 b/ m( c; u# N. V Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

8 D8 n: N. S5 W$ y* B7 I Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
4 J$ _5 N+ @- }# @$ I3 o Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
" D; n8 f/ i$ g8 g$ X9 d Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
# J) O: f; }5 V& ` Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
% A' T+ s- A+ w3 |. F& k$ m5 j$ U Knowledge of community resources.
) g9 v) h; G6 s( B* u Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

4 j$ _+ |* ~4 L- yThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
7 I* P0 ]. e* N* x5 fThere is a 3-month probationary period.
