Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
% K( m& P( y4 r3 ]* p Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
/ f4 X7 S& o; L. W Completing required paperwork.
9 H2 Q7 _+ {8 Q; V" S  A5 y! | Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
( E" i, q+ c- C% }) r/ V" ^" p Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
1 w& X/ G  C4 D& m% _ Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

% W) i; f) v8 B1 V% C; a Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
1 Z9 f. q4 M" p3 b0 G Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
! r1 E# @% }& }7 p Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
5 p4 V- u1 e! O* @) @4 Y, E+ x& w; Q Knowledge of community resources.
3 u  k6 V+ E$ Q, i Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
" l+ a: S+ m1 L' O  uThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
/ P( F' `0 _; iThere is a 3-month probationary period.
