Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
* Q% S2 a7 w9 Y# ]8 K Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
) L+ `$ A3 v4 p- v' X) m7 A: h; u Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
% K$ a4 T' k# M+ U$ j- `2 Y Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
# `- [, \4 F7 w3 e9 U Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
$ o5 N/ Y+ `4 I7 U  G. K Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
# d% x  Q  T$ v% e Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
. G: ~, l5 |: ?4 ?! H# C Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
) v% c1 ^' b! h/ I% ~* X* y Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
