Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
* y$ \3 i8 ?% P' V) m9 O4 R Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
* l( n2 G" Z) U# E. G. r; |5 z/ f4 r Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
" o8 R4 `' u# k" J% C. H* U6 ^ Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
' w6 u$ `2 Y& x Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
3 W, ?  S( f, d Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  D1 M+ N! b; T4 _) S4 D7 K) J& L: S Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
( `1 w" s& m( S0 A) J7 p1 @ Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
