A woman found slain in her Capilano bungalow was a pipefitter who had lived in the southside neighbourhood for a couple of years, say neighbours.

Edmonton police assured residents that they had no reason to be fearful, but officers did ask neighbours for their shoe sizes and vital stats during a canvass of the area./ y' c1 [/ n5 e: R" i
& `7 k/ C: _$ S“They (police) asked us what size shoes we wore and how tall we were and our weight,” said a woman who lives across the street from the crime scene but didn’t want her name published.

Lynn Gregory, vice-president of the Capilano Community League, was surprised to hear about the ongoing homicide investigation.

“We get the odd B-and-E and car theft around here, but other than that, not too much (crime),” she said.
