A woman found slain in her Capilano bungalow was a pipefitter who had lived in the southside neighbourhood for a couple of years, say neighbours.

) t' w' g0 m3 w' U; XEdmonton police assured residents that they had no reason to be fearful, but officers did ask neighbours for their shoe sizes and vital stats during a canvass of the area.

Forensics officers continued to probe the scene at 10816 52 St. on Tuesday night.

Lynn Gregory, vice-president of the Capilano Community League, was surprised to hear about the ongoing homicide investigation.

The slain woman, whose name has not been released, is the city’s 24th homicide victim of 2010.
