A woman found slain in her Capilano bungalow was a pipefitter who had lived in the southside neighbourhood for a couple of years, say neighbours.9 e- p' ~4 E0 ]2 Z
* x: n' I, T9 r2 _Edmonton police assured residents that they had no reason to be fearful, but officers did ask neighbours for their shoe sizes and vital stats during a canvass of the area.

“They (police) asked us what size shoes we wore and how tall we were and our weight,” said a woman who lives across the street from the crime scene but didn’t want her name published., F; R0 q9 ~, n0 N9 Y- B

“It’s upsetting. But we’re not too worried,” she added, noting police told them that there “wasn’t anything for us to be concerned about.”

The woman was found slain inside the 1,200-square-foot home shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, said Edmonton police spokeswoman Lisa Sobchyshyn.

Forensics officers continued to probe the scene at 10816 52 St. on Tuesday night.

Lynn Gregory, vice-president of the Capilano Community League, was surprised to hear about the ongoing homicide investigation.
