A woman found slain in her Capilano bungalow was a pipefitter who had lived in the southside neighbourhood for a couple of years, say neighbours. z( V" g Y4 Y
9 Q7 y: s; S( YEdmonton police assured residents that they had no reason to be fearful, but officers did ask neighbours for their shoe sizes and vital stats during a canvass of the area.; {" s2 C2 i0 L8 S
' r1 o0 Z1 z; X“They (police) asked us what size shoes we wore and how tall we were and our weight,” said a woman who lives across the street from the crime scene but didn’t want her name published.; N6 t, X B; T; K& S' r

“It’s upsetting. But we’re not too worried,” she added, noting police told them that there “wasn’t anything for us to be concerned about.”

The woman was found slain inside the 1,200-square-foot home shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, said Edmonton police spokeswoman Lisa Sobchyshyn.+ i8 Q; l* p- W* S; w

Forensics officers continued to probe the scene at 10816 52 St. on Tuesday night.
