immigrants are highly educated and experienced, yet many may find it

What is the practice?

experience and competency-based training, such as applied academics or+ i. E. F+ A4 P. {

The ETIP program involves four phases:

What is the evidence of success?
8 b# _1 l- ]( ]: CAs of 2003, more than 80% of ETIP graduates over the past six years have
/ u8 g% x ^' o. j. jfound engineering or engineering technologist employment in Alberta.
% |2 c* L- t5 f, @: g& l6 m3 C" [, NIn 2004, 46 engineers graduated from the ETIP program. At the time of
( }" w* ~: T3 |+ ^5 L- ygraduation, almost half had secured employment in the engineering industry,9 d6 W: }: K9 T% r2 t9 E
with over 90% employed at three months post-graduation.* b9 R7 K" {5 ~: E, J" o9 Y
