 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.

 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.0 V' U: J4 B6 J  `" F9 J1 g( N
 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.6 {6 {/ ?8 [! z7 Y2 w
 Update and maintain job boards.

Settlement Counsellor
6 L& h5 B+ R7 a Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.# f' U4 L8 z, ~* C) i
 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.
& x( F% _- y( A9 i0 S* v Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.
3 Q7 m+ L1 g! h, H% l7 b% C6 n Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers
  l' e3 F% U4 b% s5 @, y3 A Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
& x5 g& V$ c+ D, p' f% O Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
2 f7 K" E; [/ A. O Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.. v$ {. y$ n+ F$ l
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.  _; x' W3 U& S6 h% q4 p
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Attend multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings, as required; Q; |9 Z! E) r" k
 Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work.

Assessment Officer
) G9 s) Y: u3 }# y7 d$ _2 m Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.  P2 p4 m: R$ q
 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.3 w" t+ `6 E* e3 O# Y
 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.
9 `$ J5 u% ~% J- |& x4 U Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.% B# u; x; x, d& z) R8 x! d
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client." G6 y$ o  a  p# K# }/ h6 n, ^2 g
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.

 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment" U8 M# A3 {: N1 G
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
! l6 h, M' E2 Y4 J3 f Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants3 A0 ^- U0 w" O4 J9 ~) H
 Complete participant reviews with the participants
