 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.

 Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.

Settlement Counsellor
3 B8 F* X: J0 P! X. J* z; } Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers5 \+ q8 F* O- m4 ]( g$ W
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
1 I9 [* P9 n) O0 J7 V$ U8 h Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
/ Z7 o" e) Z  }' U; s Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.$ f& ~/ g3 R! _0 }
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Attend multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings, as required; x! ?' r4 G( L1 u' @

Assessment Officer
  W0 F6 U( S! `" B7 G7 A Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.
- h4 I8 L" ^& x$ a, B) j& _7 ^ Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
; S. V; H! P$ r- e8 d9 @. a Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.0 C; D/ V, J, p5 ~8 d/ n: E5 m
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
3 H  X, ^" r& } Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.: X- E! `! O" U" H7 f
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.
) }, b$ j2 s( ]/ T Create and update clients files on Mobius computer system. [4 p( K1 k  Y- q! J  l7 }0 Y/ h- C

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
- c: j' z( `( r) y7 s( V Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
6 \% s% p( M9 T9 n4 H2 r/ r4 u Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada' ^: S7 ], |  t! Y) |
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
; @3 O' ^5 L/ v3 Q6 u4 I Complete participant reviews with the participants' D8 b9 Z: ~0 k/ N5 z* b
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion: o! |. l8 l3 b. j
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
