Job Description
9 U+ e, A  W/ I: X+ j8 W* w- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
" }3 V9 U% U# c; B$ f: \-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
  O/ |- @  j1 i4 `- provide support to ISP staff
3 w! p! M, H# H& U0 [- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
6 K" P' h5 D( z  A/ G7 V2 h1 N& k- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
$ b& G4 d  J$ D- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
5 B; s3 N0 V; u9 K) b4 Y- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
; k- w- |) }; g2 Y8 U( m) D( z- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
# w( v; W# c( f5 z& n6 m+ ?- other duties as assigned

1 {2 z/ ~! s  d3 q+ BQualifications
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
2 t3 k0 V, ]) U- _( t! N( g6 B- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
  t0 i, l& z/ q- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
' Z' `4 y9 ^# B1 i7 U' a- good interpersonal and people skills
; e* R) Y0 s' u* x. y. v/ ]- good organizational and coordination skills
- valid driver’s license

Other
- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

; c  c- J; Q1 U4 |% N2 A+ H) U- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
