Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description' d1 c ]" T4 u" ^1 C$ O" F
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
7 C3 G6 I& |# A5 q- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
5 [) l L/ ]7 O/ [- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP4 J/ i/ q9 g! Q
- provide support to ISP staff$ w- I: E. @( E) C
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members; h! I _8 W0 E! P. c6 [
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
! H( N- k1 g9 }2 ?) Q4 A2 r- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
8 V1 B% g: Z9 x! U1 U! M4 J- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants( H& l ]/ g8 {
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
9 P& N, t" i5 y2 K9 H- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder3 \" q! N( u: z' B6 I4 V- \7 U
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
7 g( s6 q- @7 S5 s7 L- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
; X7 l, T! y& c. j% k: h) i- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned# n' U6 X# Y; s+ X* s

Qualifications. t$ ]7 W, a$ E1 Q
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
# f0 I4 W2 Q5 N& x- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available! T2 b7 @4 B( H/ E& @& l" z
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
# D; u* R$ V( I- b, W- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
8 ?" n! d0 Z. H3 H/ s4 ~' s6 G, r! @- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)0 V5 u/ P4 b- g1 X) Y$ c
- good interpersonal and people skills

- valid driver’s license
