In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

" |5 p; S* \+ T# u7 V# LSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
k' p* P5 F2 o; U* K& H* n; BSEDI is staffed to:
$ _9 W! }) M s) U) {) R6 q" C9 b• conduct socio-economic market and policy research 3 T* D' L3 l. u8 J
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners / l0 d# \7 [& d
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
9 F9 O5 F. f, G• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
5 n3 N8 F8 O8 P4 i• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits - P8 p: v0 k3 y" V7 B3 r* m
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 7 X9 X2 N: t( r, l7 d/ Q2 ?
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
4 X/ z% S! Y, z% x• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
9 m4 }! F. v9 a1 z8 K, x# @• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
' p9 R2 e/ j5 d7 Y; k) T• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 7 v5 Z0 x% s2 W& Y1 w& K4 W
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
& f' v- F, S- K& |3 w• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
* W6 f9 E2 u' ~9 y3 P9 w: L6 ?• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 0 b! g$ S+ b' s" b `, H3 P
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports l" s/ r$ A+ T$ w
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning # F' i! {; X( L* D& I( X
Primary Qualifications:
$ X. E: B& H7 X* P9 V {- h• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
. V0 ]6 K1 I5 k$ {" n* w• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
$ v ]( b/ ^+ ]$ e: u• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training / q, L+ a9 h, L6 ?9 K5 x3 c
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
/ A9 v7 \/ a5 Q% p" `• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
% f- A# W: F7 d6 S. @• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals " |; ~! A6 `, q, M# m9 B% e" Y5 Z
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts . x- \1 d5 n6 M B; c. E9 D7 |
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
" Q; u9 N- X2 {* ^ d, z$ h• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 6 l+ \; ]5 Y. R# M" a$ U, Z
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
7 q, m: _2 A# f5 ~( v• Content / curriculum development experience 9 }3 Y% ` ^ B5 I D
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
; _- C8 N% v, `; ]• Excellent organizational skills - p! [8 v5 a* {3 H
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

Work Term:
