SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. 7 P/ A7 j/ G; i% y& h
SEDI is staffed to: / G: |% X* K; s$ I6 @7 q, L, j+ \
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research $ K, W2 z! C8 E5 z
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 3 p' E! b9 n& f. |2 w
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation # n Z9 ~' U% c/ y
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 1 w9 a4 v4 `" g; C( ]" ~7 N
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
5 t2 M0 A/ B0 e1 H) b0 H! Y• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 0 ?( U9 X& T- Z% O
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
6 @, f9 t$ B8 E, _- r/ ?% K( Z• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
8 e6 N% _- W) c, w/ t; B• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 3 ~" D: J2 p0 A4 w* \% v
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
7 ?& r) [6 J# M' |- \• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
3 y9 B+ Q; ?) {# z4 i9 K" T. I) Y• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

: _) z2 |0 d% i/ t- D/ X• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ; Q5 r1 q7 g) h9 v
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
* _5 p( M8 C& X8 n; x$ r• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
, T6 }6 g+ o5 X9 Q: v• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports . t" @% _; n$ V/ J7 J& g5 N/ U! F
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 4 _5 i7 x5 c8 P& y+ e& d6 C( g
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
5 B" L$ ?+ N2 N- \/ w9 E: O• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
; h- t, E# P$ P) U$ ]! d* T8 B6 ]: W• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

' I- o5 z- ?1 x7 d• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them . P4 ]) P( H0 F+ W) n$ e) b
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Excellent organizational skills
. o# y$ k. w0 ]' S" ?• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset
