In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

% L. \( p, s+ f) E7 b• conduct socio-economic market and policy research ( V* {! m2 ^- ?
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners - t; M) i3 s! z$ A# g
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
4 _9 @5 X8 n& t5 [2 a+ _4 P• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
. I: F7 M1 O9 t9 u# \• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
5 o6 p* A1 ~# M: l8 w$ v- j• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 2 u& E6 A/ d) G9 I# C
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 7 Y: M1 O( n; z4 s8 q. n: c% T
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) , h3 Q# m& D" P# T$ Y4 |
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 4 A4 F, H# S1 ?
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
' D8 V2 Z* q! N/ t" N• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 7 A. q) [! ?* b! d6 ?4 Y
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
. T; c2 F6 }+ ~4 U: O o+ nOther Activities:
7 [" a% I# ?# k• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies C& W2 v3 ~7 h5 c+ w) [
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
; C4 v& r7 ~. Y# v" B• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
# K) @( U; `$ z• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
% j" N$ L# p i( p# j S• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning 5 O* \0 K" q# S
Primary Qualifications:
* X Q) V0 x" U# B; R• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
R& `( W3 w: D; |; X4 W) h• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media . K- i$ X' S3 l4 |5 @
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training ) {; A- ^* t4 {& p. S/ q: V& f
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities ; \1 O: C3 y# S; B* d# T
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
8 b) j0 q" d2 i' \- J* Y: p* t• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
( d2 T3 P; }+ ~' g$ k% L; |8 Y• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc

• Content / curriculum development experience ' l$ X0 Y3 b, @1 P$ Y8 v
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners $ o' w+ j( a9 y* \; u5 t! v( L
• Excellent organizational skills
. I1 c- {; A) B• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. & l: ~, J- t0 B5 R5 G& r
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset & \5 M, V& _" f. z2 ?
• Policy research skill set is an asset
