In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada./ O3 O& _0 u& l9 r: d6 s. f

8 s* O7 M6 N! S5 E* N. YSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. : P7 R- U/ L' g- ]
SEDI is staffed to:
; ]6 B: o! N$ C; M5 t* b0 ~+ E• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
( e! x( I; q1 X* V: h- O8 J• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
5 f) \, P4 `! E: O+ O' ^+ x• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation . z: L6 R" W- v3 M& W. Q1 M
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs & M3 u4 `1 @$ F9 F7 ?1 F0 I3 w
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
& h5 k- F- a# \% P; G• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses ?2 `, `8 ~0 s) \8 j9 q H, ?3 Q
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
?1 H/ M/ P& xPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
# G3 M1 U, L* m" [$ F• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
' o- }; m. H% F/ }3 e, R9 T4 U2 n• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) " P! R% O3 D; e: y6 b; d
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
; D! n% y8 E4 n0 V0 G2 q( [# O6 O7 W. X, a• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
: C) @5 O' n- l; F0 @7 B8 X• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
, A: d& G3 G& l4 S3 f! ?• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required " g1 n/ q/ a( f+ @' Y1 s
Other Activities:& A: F) L ?( r1 m8 X
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
8 h3 N/ ^ I6 X5 i( ]• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners - t7 j. | {; q# Y* |" Y
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
; j2 V) f( _' Y1 Z1 l R$ ?• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
/ c/ E# C7 T& o9 g• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning ( l8 i `0 a! c3 e) a# c. Y/ j
Primary Qualifications:
% Y5 R8 B( n7 Q$ ] T• Demonstrated group facilitation experience * m* B" d5 T8 t# @8 s5 ^) o
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
' i4 }% m( f& F• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training Y9 u4 q6 `. A8 ~6 n4 \ H
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
* C" U( E5 t% r, b7 K• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
# |1 w" a6 {! z+ c• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
9 Q5 x8 l# v: W! t7 [9 `• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
: p* k( t& v0 l1 z• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 5 W7 B5 I5 {, E% y" t% t7 \. o7 w
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
. v& v+ r/ h+ R: B* G( Q& p' q• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education ; q+ m, V/ v. O9 w3 c
• Content / curriculum development experience
4 ?7 E5 z1 ~* J) Z' {• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
4 T! V2 k$ w# C1 t• Excellent organizational skills t8 A( Y2 t6 [4 } P
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset
