6 k1 l5 R( z/ ySEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
- ]6 O F: g" WSEDI is staffed to:
# P, @8 ~8 |: J# C• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
' t* |% u B [• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners / H& o5 N9 U# d: t: d& g
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 9 {; U" N: g1 _& w' t6 b
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs ' F& y+ U# C A6 c8 m. J
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
0 J' R5 F, ^7 \• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

4 z* m, i& s ? yPrimary Responsibilities and Activities: 6 t4 _4 T0 t2 t& Y
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ( ]) P& m4 E8 W- ~( j
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
9 S; C1 V% b2 s' V: k• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
' t# u; K/ e; W& F5 y• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 4 B$ O9 j B- t0 F) k. W* {
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
, n5 D& V; w+ `, V• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

y1 I0 p$ h2 |: M7 L0 G$ B• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
+ ~0 i# e& o+ f: L# e! K o j• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners & E/ S+ H8 E0 P
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting ( `# g% Y- f! n0 o
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports ) n7 x, _: V6 q5 u0 ~% [) m2 @
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning . W9 U' S- R) ~! B3 ~) s% d5 w" C$ F
Primary Qualifications:
6 `# u+ ~/ }; I2 `9 ^# z5 O• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
/ B# J5 i3 i! {1 h• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
* }2 O( o' ?! ^" D5 n• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
1 J0 {; A6 L/ S! [6 G) ]• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities & p( o. ^: r0 ?7 I. @, x |
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
$ H1 `3 A6 j" F. @• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals . H% R% O2 J2 N! u5 J, D% Z
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts % }8 x$ n; c* ~7 K
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
7 h, N* U1 {) f5 i% d# L• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc / D6 N, a1 K0 j5 } Q
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education ( n, }( ~5 M' q4 W4 O
• Content / curriculum development experience 5 ]; ]( K9 z. s; S M' V
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
, I; V5 l* F' P/ A& E• Excellent organizational skills
; b4 T- M8 x; H: J8 Q1 V ~• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset

Work Term:
