1. It's cool:cool
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard.
6 A" b6 ^. Z& x5 Q
. E: K. H* ^# z5 f$ J! b# e$ F That's cool;he is cool;this is cool.
6 P* d9 P$ {( R4 `% F' Q! N# ~ k% ^ f- a
Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)
3 B, f6 l% ^7 H) g- J! ?! R% u, o- n
主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。
& o4 U1 ^ ]$ N" Z1 t0 ?* J3 n4 D2 Q
4 o# B" ~- T* B4 s3 K She (He) was cool in the past.
* g% d; S" w! D6 }+ w6 Z6 d8 R2 g4 B& @! T
That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫)

He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人)! X% o X* J6 B
/ J# q. [* F1 e
但是如果说:Are you cool?
3 h+ A- M! v5 I) Y
/ g% ]/ ?, a) n p3 J She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not
3 W0 M% ~$ ^' `# o0 M) o6 C) z

; q; p! Z: @( e7 @8 M( r9 ? 2. Are you trippin'?:trippin' 这个字,是由动词 trip 演变而来。 这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?)
5 G" b# R2 |7 H# H% s* J
6 x' J; e. o8 [+ d! o3 ? They are trippin'. (= tripping)% C% l" _: g. y" X
6 R1 q0 [: r' k/ t% n1 B) r& E6 P

3. He is a nerd:nerd (A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.) (IQ = Intelligence Quotient ; EQ = Emotional Quotient) nerd 可用复数,动词也能用其他时态。
- j# d5 v+ D" j# X: i6 a, Z/ t( ^
. q' Z: S- G7 `- b6 K. |5 s: A He used to be a nerd in high school. (过去他在高中时是位书呆子)6 b/ I0 d2 q/ U+ {0 s
* L8 R: r, H) |/ d4 Y' W5 M Many Chinese students are(或 have been)considered nerds., l ~8 f( g/ E: [
2 ?6 k7 P6 h: R7 M* |. W7 S
Y I: B" `/ ^7 E9 H% L m
" S- j. D8 H7 H+ o He is a computer geek. (意思是:虽然他是书呆子,但电脑很棒)/ t0 Q' l" H' q9 L$ J* a
$ `! j T; ^6 D: o! E
) B5 H8 ?, n3 {! `- }. P3 J; H' K' d6 x7 A7 ~ g: f. M
I don't like him because he is a jerk.9 f7 H! m8 [' B% U
5 N5 `/ U# M) ?$ I

4 M6 d" H* x& e5 d" s8 b& j1 b1 M: @ Many jerks are working in our company.# d% J& z& h0 m8 p
; e( P# b* J7 W% I2 [
" i% A' @2 ]# c6 [* }* `9 B They are jerks; He was a jerk in the past; Mr. A has been jerk for years.
: y5 o0 @ r$ H0 `9 H% V" V: t4 s7 M; t0 e. V
(注:有时年轻人也用 dork 这个字,但不如 jerk 流行)& |# ]) F& e0 X9 S9 k/ x. ^' J
2 M: V+ g2 H- E# }8 p 4.
9 m e% a- A4 `' Q- ]1 A$ `
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:, P0 ]3 h5 {/ m/ E: n, ^3 j* J
- h4 G$ x6 Q' @$ Y# d% \4 N
Yo baby, are you trippin'?
# ?! P- z0 k" R' X; M; D% K# O4 e& T) E. c' C* }# ^# I+ K
May I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before.. S2 a. C6 x# w/ h
0 L5 D! R4 O' i6 l
* S; @7 @4 m! n" U Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)
+ P$ X3 K; H: D2 I- u
/ e0 Z0 x- D7 [2 A- ?" Y 5. Catch you later!这是年轻人说「再会」的口语。(a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) 因此,catch 就是 talk 或 contact 的意思。catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等)
0 L9 `' a; I1 D' H) C( j5 K9 J' @+ Y+ ^7 }+ _4 t
有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again.
