( o* k' E9 I: H; a) f; j' BYWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

Payroll:6 K, {: ^# U% _: P2 j
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
O( y. G! E- f$ p• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
1 I. E" k3 V) a4 ^; N• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records ' Z; _3 U2 _7 y s- R& \
• Input benefit deductions into payroll3 _/ { a2 ^8 w
9 o- k3 H2 h; C6 aReporting duties:3 n: f( u. Z, q# y+ |) ~
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider) y; Y) w; y+ t4 u: a: _ x8 {! f
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website/ Z) ^: I! G! t, q, D9 X
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
9 F! K% B" y i t$ i2 z. m• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority" a5 }( T7 L1 Y) O/ F
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

Compliance:
9 ]7 Z5 B& W& Y- I' |' P8 G* h• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
9 u& ^3 B' s$ S ~! B7 e• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
1 Q8 H+ @+ s0 u4 f& q6 u• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
1 F( g k, ^" ]8 d: c8 B, B; H• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

: T. b3 S8 ]: a& y7 x! c" [• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit6 \/ W8 f/ ] I' [0 C/ C1 c$ j4 V$ e/ ^5 i
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
# V* N6 U3 p4 p9 c* M4 G- u• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments% I; K- I3 t# U( K0 D* E
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing8 u: }! S$ D! e9 g9 d5 H

Qualifications:* Y! k( x1 b) n6 i& y' l
* L P( g' f0 l9 l5 V/ h; Y
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
; I8 z0 ?1 y) D6 F7 D, _• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association9 ~8 f; n2 P0 C
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position/ [5 y, B2 J+ {; x
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office3 M5 L) W8 U, K
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work1 x& V Z O4 e+ P2 R8 Z1 ?+ o
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure4 Y; }+ C0 k) B9 L3 `0 J
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
