Payroll:
/ I% f/ `# X Q! d" _8 }• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
0 |( H% F/ ?4 p3 C1 A• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
. L- J- `0 s+ ~2 G• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records 4 J x$ W+ L1 t" ^
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:- d! u% ^4 A( G R' J1 A/ N- B/ g) N
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
1 V6 J1 H8 H: ]5 C7 q- X, s; n• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
6 G/ L3 u; |2 w# w• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
8 u: }$ A* p2 A/ ]0 L( Z5 }! p• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority( G9 X9 s. t V. z7 U
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

Compliance:; ]2 T- z/ j0 B+ T3 l
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
5 d- j5 j$ I5 s* [8 H• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll./ I1 ]5 n X9 y; p I! J9 O4 Q' M' ?
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies5 _7 d1 [$ _) N- q6 f
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting% m4 d7 U$ a" X

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit ?0 t; B, D6 V# @. @ W. c
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department+ d- R Q" {+ [; J
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments P0 X( A4 _& z9 h5 h
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing7 K4 @) |8 V# t6 p1 ~

$ `' @% e% ?: J( U; M1 e4 U• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
1 B2 Y9 z3 ^& R6 w, t• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
% R3 t8 F. K7 D. o( a+ k) Y• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
& K8 _; m& w K3 G0 [• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
